Bollywood has just received the best romantic song of the year with ‘Kya Kamaal Hai’ from Main Vaapas Aaunga, a great collaboration between Diljit Dosanjh, A.R Rahman, and Irshad.
‘Kya Kamaal Hai’ is a soundtrack from the upcoming film ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ by Imtiaz Ali, who is best known for making emotionally engaging romantic movies, and this movie also showcases the hardship and loyalty in love that remains eternally for the fortunate few. The story is based on an unbreakable romantic bonding against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition in India and will offer audiences a taste of historical love. The song perfectly fits the theme of the movie and creates a greater amount of anticipation with buzz among the audience.
The collaboration between Diljit Dosanjh, music maestro A.R. Rahman, and lyricist Irshad Kamil is supposed to make some of the best musical creations, and listeners have already found that taste with the trio’s previous work in ‘Amar Singh Chamkila.’ ‘Kya Kamaal Hai’ also showcases their superiority with deeply emotional lyricism along operatic musical composition. Talking about this track, the director said, “All of us are going through a tumultuous time today. The world is burning, towns and cities have been devastated, everybody is insecure. This reminds us of the time of partition of our country in 1947, which has left behind hurt but also beautiful stories of enduring love.” Imtiaz also added, “The first song is a dream collaboration – Diljit Dosanjh, A. R. Rahman and Irshad Kamil; we bring it out with love at a time where all of us need hope and positivity – ‘Kya Kamaal Hai’!”
Similarly, Diljit also shared, “‘Kya Kamal Hai’ is very close to my heart. There’s a certain honesty in this song… it makes you pause and just feel, without trying too hard.” And he also added, “There’s a lot of noise and chaos around us today, but this song has a certain stillness. It reminds you to slow down, breathe, and just be in the moment.” There is no doubt that the song is not just beautiful but also highly relevant in this modern world where chaos prevails, and the meaning of love has shifted. Imtiaz Ali is one of the renowned Indian directors who is best known for creating provocative movies, and this film is also going to be one of them. Working with him is also a great experience, as A.R Rahman said, “Working with Imtiaz and Irshad always feels like continuing a conversation that never really ended.” Talking about the song, he said, “‘Kya Kamaal Hai’ carries longing and the beauty we fail to see, which is screened by the noise of violence- sometimes, music just has to echo the beauty of silence and poetry.”
The ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ is all set to release on June 12, 2026, and it is produced by Applause Entertainment and Window Seat Films. The cast for the movie includes Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari Wagh, and Vedang Raina, along with Diljit Dosanjh, and fans are eagerly waiting for it!
