BLACKPINK’s LISA steps into a new chapter with her latest single ‘SaWaDiKa’. It is a high-energy release that brings her sharp rap delivery along with larger-than-life confidence and Thai identity together in one striking project. Named after the Thai greeting for “hello”, the song carries an obvious sense of arrival. It sounds like LISA is introducing herself again, but this time with even greater control over the world she is creating as a solo artist.

The song immediately leans into the rapper side of LISA. Built around sputtering drums and a heavy, thumping production, ‘SaWaDiKa’ gives her plenty of space to deliver the kind of bars that have become closely associated with her solo persona. There is a playful arrogance running through the lyrics, but it never feels forced. Lines such as “I’m that bitch on your TV / In my Ferrari, indigo / La Lalisa, la diva” establish the attitude from the beginning, while ‘HOW MANY WANT MY NAME? HOW MANY?’ adds another memorable moment of self-assurance.

Produced by Thom Bridges and songwriting duo Ojivolta, the track has a polished modern sound without losing the punch that makes it work as a rap-driven pop record. The production is built for impact, with the percussion giving the song its restless momentum. LISA rides that rhythm with confidence, switching between rhythmic phrasing and her familiar commanding delivery. Rather than overcrowding the track with unnecessary layers, the production allows her personality to remain at the center.

What makes her newest single ‘SaWaDika’ particularly interesting is the way the ‘LALISA’ singer brings her Thai background into a music project that is designed for an international audience. The title itself immediately connects the song to Thailand, while the music video takes that connection even further by placing her in the streets of Bangkok. It gives the single a sense of identity that connects its music beautifully with its audience.

Directed by Bang Jae Yeob, the video turns Bangkok into an extension of LISA’s performance. She moves through recognizable locations with the same confidence she brings to the music, surrounded by carefully styled visuals, choreography, and fashion. A red cut-out leather bodysuit and boxing shorts decorated with rhinestone lettering are among the looks that underline the track’s bold personality. Jeweled headpieces and streetwear-inspired styling add another layer to the visual world.

There is also something satisfying about seeing the BLACKPINK member take ownership of a project that connects her global career with where she originally comes from. Her journey from the biggest K-pop girl group to a solo artist has given her opportunities to experiment with different sounds and aesthetics. ‘SaWaDika’ continues this mesmerizing evolution while returning the artist to an element that has always suited her the most: rap.

As the first glimpse of her upcoming EP ‘Press Play’, this newly released track creates curiosity about what comes next in this chapter. The six-track project is arriving on October 23 through her LLOUD Co. and RCA Records. The upcoming EP promises another stage in LISA’s journey as a solo musician. For now, ‘SaWaDika’ works as an energetic introduction to that exciting next phase. The song, along with the music video, is visually ambitious and rooted in LISA’s identity. It is also one of the most confident releases of her career. More importantly, it sounds like an artist who knows exactly how she wants to be seen!
