A non-socially distanced music gig to be held to provide the audience live musical experience again

The United Kingdom has come up with the idea of arranging a music festival just like the old days, without any social distancing or restrictions. It is announced that a total of 5,000 attendees can join this gig and have a wonderful musical experience without the worries of coronavirus. This summer is going to different for the UK people since the British Government announced the outdoor musical concert. As per Sunday’s statement, British music promoter Festival Republic will host the gig in Liver pool at Sefton Park on 2nd May.

The people are very glad about the news after series of lockdowns and a long halt from live gig experiences.  The ticket holders are not required to follow social distancing or any face-covering. However, they have to go through a ‘rapid lateral flow test’ to ensure that no covid-positive person is present in the gig. Local testing centers will provide the facility of testing before they enter the gig. According to the statement, there will be researchers and medical teams working onsite and checking the crowd’s movement and behavior. This pilot gig is set as part of a research program made to establish an idea of how big events can be held this summer, safely. All the venues like, stadiums, conference centers, community halls, weddings, nightclubs, etc where a larger number of people can gather, are the main priority right now. So this can be considered as a scientific trial.

Amid this global pandemic, the immediate future of the live events and gigs was quite uncertain. Several music festivals, including the Glastonbury music festival, are canceled for this year. It is further mentioned in the statement that, this idea of the scientific trial initiated on Saturday with the World Snooker Championships. The championship is scheduled to be run till 3rd May, allowing up to 1000 spectators every day. The event took place at the Sheffield Crucible Theatre in northern England in order to test an indoor seating sting for the crowd. UK Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden told in a statement that this science-led program for event organizing is still underway, making tests to come up with a full-fledged program that can provide fun and safety both. According to him, testing things differently and observing different mitigation is the key here which can help in future events. He mentioned the Sefton Park gig as one of the best addition to this pilot program.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock said about the program that pilot gigs can be really effective to make a better and safer approach to future big events. To reduce the transmission, trailing new safety measures can bring a change. This program will be providing vital evidence to provide a better idea for future overseas events. This program is showing some light to get the old days back before the pandemic not only to the UK but the whole world. Perhaps, this is the best time to start a new world!
