This year’s annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival has been canceled. The fans are extremely saddened by the news. The festival was supposed to take place in Tennessee. The organizers have said that the show has been canceled due to the flood caused by excessive rainfall.

The event was canceled last year as well. Last year it was called off due to the pandemic. The Covid-19 caused all the music festivals to be canceled in 2020.

On their official website, the festival posted on Tuesday that they were heartbroken to announce that the festival had to be canceled. The organizers also said that even though the current week’s weather is completely good, many places in Centeroo are still clogged by floodwater. On the tollbooth path, the ground is completely soaked by the floodwater. The campgrounds are so waterlogged that the visitors won’t be able to drive or park their cars safely there.

The area where the festival was supposed to be held has experienced almost 5 to 7 inches of rain in the last two weeks. The area is a 700-acre farm in Middle Tennessee. As the tropical storm Ida moved more to the south, there has been much rain in the weekend and the last 24 hours, says Taylor Ward, a CNN Meteorologist.

The festival was supposed to begin on Thursday and end on Sunday in Manchester. According to the media reports, more than 80,000 people were supposed to visit the four-day event. Some people were supposed to camp and others were planning to visit by their personal vehicles.

The organizers have tried but they are left with no option to carry forward the festival safely.

Artists like The Creator, Foo Fighters, Jason Isbell, Meghan Thee Stallion, Phoebe Bridgers and Tyler, Lizzo, and more were supposed to perform in the show. Some of them were scheduled to perform in the 2020 festival as well.

The organizers have decided that this year’s tickets will not roll over to next year’s festival. They previously decided to make Covid-19 negative report or proof of vaccination mandatory.
