Everything you need to know about the Gasparilla Music Festival 2021

Gasparilla Music Festival 2021

On Thursday, September 9, the Gasparilla Music Festival 2021, Tampa Bay’s premier annual multi-day, four-stage music fest announced its entire line-up and fans just cannot seem to keep calm!

The 2021 festival is scheduled to take place in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park from October 1 to 3rd and is scheduled to feature various musical acts from a wide variety of genres on several stages. The music fest is also known to host cuisine from the region’s top restaurants. As a part of its mission to promote and support music and education, the organization is also involved throughout the year in numerous initiatives that include providing instruments and scholarships to various musical students across the world.

On Friday, David Cox, the Executive Director of GMF was asked about the extra day his party is adding to which he told the Creative Loafing Tampa Bay that there’s only going to be one stage on that extra day. This is because a separate charity spin class is scheduled to take over Kiley Gardens that would leave the public to enjoy music on the main stage at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. He also added that the crowd doesn’t necessarily have to worry about leaving to work early either.

Cox added that it’s all going to be kind of a mid-to-late afternoon start over there, so the audience does not have to cut out too early to start the pre-gaming process. It would be in full swing by almost 5 p.m on Friday, he added. And for those who have planned to attend all three days of the Gasparilla Music Festival 2021, they need not have to worry about missing out on the Bucs take on the New England Patriots in the season opener either! This is because the 2021 festival is going to wrap up on Sunday at right about the kickoff.

On a funny note, Cox added that this is indeed very funny because there are all these considerations being made that they never had to think about previously.

Now, coming to the details! Following on the Augusts’ initial line-up reveal that features headlines like Sofi Tukker, Nas, Young MC, Parquet Courts, Sylvan Esso, and Gov’t Mule, the latest announcement provides the full schedule. The details include on which days those headliners shall perform.

Reportedly, Young MC and Sofi Tukker are set to top-line Friday’s opening-night festivities whereas Nas, Matt & Kim, Sylvan Esso, and Parquet Courts shall headline on Saturday, and Gov’t Mule and Keller Williams’ Grateful Gospel to close out the Gasparilla Music Festival 2021’s final day.

GMF has announced the addition of nine more acts to its schedule and also the cancellation of a previously announced band. On the latest, the list of performers includes Mod Sun, The Motet, Cedric Burnside, DJ Casper, Cade, Mondo Cozmo, Someday River, The Bright Light Social Hour, and Speakeasy.

Interested festival-goers can visit the GMF website to check out the full schedule and download this year’s iPhone app to check on on-site and to ensure that they don’t miss out on their favorite performers!

Additionally, the festival has previously announced that the attendees must present their COVID-19 vaccination proof or a negative test to enter.
