‘When It’s Not Said, But Done’ is a soulful and experimental journey of growth. Big O has used layered beats and stunning vocals in the songs that speak through action.
Hip-hop is one of those genres that can instantly fill you up with insane energy. The structured bars can make you feel alive through music and emotions again. This is why Hip-hop is one of my favorite music genres, and I was completely blown away by Big O’s exceptional musical creations. Originally known as Orlando Turner, the artist has recently released a brand new album, ‘When It’s Not Said, But Done’, which reflects his talent and unique artistry. From the very first track, ‘From the Ashes (Rebirth)’, the musician frames this album as a journey of transformation. With the intro, the artist establishes a tone of quiet emergence before shifting into fuller instrumentation. He further weaves moments of introspection with hopeful pulses across all 15 tracks on the album.

Some of the songs from the album have made a special impact on me. As a true Hip-hop lover, I was actually surprised by the shimmering synth layers and gentle percussion on the song ‘M!dnyght Ryde’, creating a nocturnal ride-through. Another of my preferred songs from the album is ‘Sounds of Broken Pieces’. The way the song leans into fractured samples and space creates a beautiful ambiance, where the beat lets silence creep in between the elements.
Big O has showcased his talent and creativity by using vocal features and lyrical moments in a way that does not seem overdone. In the song ‘Walking into Next Week (Feat. Jeronimo G)’, the artist has used a melodic xylophone touch from Jeronimo G. This gave the song an almost whimsical character while still grounded in Turner’s production. ‘When It’s Not Said, But Done’ is filled with such examples that truly make the listeners realize how insanely gifted the artist his. Every track on the album is enjoyable and leaves a lasting impression on you, long after you have finished the record. In just a few listens, the album has become my absolute favorite, and I cannot wait to see what the artist releases next. You can listen to the album on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.
