Lizzo and SZA have created a musical dream team and the newly released remix of “Special” is the greatest example of their powerful collaboration. The single ‘Special’ has been released before with the namesake album that created a huge buzz in the industry. However, the singer came up with a brand new version of the ‘Special’, which is truly special, featuring SZA. They also teased the remix of the track on social media which created a huge buzz with them flexing their Grammy Award wins. Not to mention but Lizzo won the award for Record of the Year trophy with ‘About Damn Time’, appearing in the same album.
SZA’s opening verses not only tantalize the hearts of listeners but also depicted a vivid picture of empowerment as well as Lizzo’s progress. It goes, “Woke up this morning to somebody judging me/No surprise they judging me, don’t know who I’m ‘posed to be/I’m just acting up,” but it also offers a fair share of motivation with the lines, “You call sensitive and I call it superpower/You just like empathy ’cause you think it gives you power/All I know is only God can judge me/I don’t hide my heart, I wear it on me.”

After winning the Grammy, Lizzo also showered her love, adoration, and appreciation for SZA by saying, “My actual sister. I could cry thinking about you right now. Nothing could make special more special than you”.Previously in an interview, Lizzo said, “I turn my pain into profit. I make it work for me. So I went into the studio to write a song for myself that would remind me how special I am”, while talking about the concept behind the song. It is safe to say that Lizzo is turning her pain into success and SZA is her partner in crime.
