Lydia Singer is sending fans into a frenzy with her latest release ‘Lemme Know’. It is a track all about wanting honesty in a relationship, and the Milton Keynes singer gets her message across conspicuously.
Taking a hint out of the commercial pop songbook, ‘Lemme Know‘ carries a contemporary feel from the start. But, it does not come as you may expect. Furthermore, as the track progresses, lots of new sounds appear which we do not hear all too often in the modern chart.
Vocally, Lydia Singer is a force that takes no prisoners. Moreover, her approach to songwriting is refreshing, and her ability to smash through a vocal at the highest quality is inspirational. So much so, I am wondering why she is not at the top with Ariana Grande yet? She has equally as much energy and vigour, and her quality is mind-blowing.
But, is the mix a little too full-on at times? Possibly, I feel that that the mix could have remained a little more condensed to give the vocals more of the focal position. But, I enjoy how the producer has blended a wide range of sounds; it is what makes Lydia stand out more uniquely, especially given that her vocal does follow a generic standpoint.
Overall, ‘Lemme Know’ is the gift which we have all been craving, well for me anyway. It has a pop vibe but yet has a direction of its own, which I may be inclined to say pushes it into a post-genre category. However, it is still very early days for Lydia. Yet, already racking up countless Spotify streams as well as a national radio play, there is no reason why she cannot go on the compete with the top bracket of vocalists in this field.
