Nora Fatehi and YoYo Honey Singh’s latest release, ‘Body Roll’, has quickly become one of the most talked-about music videos online, though not entirely for the reasons the makers may have expected. While the song managed to pull in more than 2 million views within hours of its release, social media conversations soon shifted away from the track’s popularity and toward allegations of plagiarism. Several viewers have pointed out strong similarities between the music video and Jibaro, the visually acclaimed episode from Netflix’s Love, Death + Robots.

The debate gained quite a buzz online almost immediately after the song dropped. Many viewers began comparing the scenes from ‘Body Roll’ with moments from Jibaro, an episode that became widely popular for its haunting imagery and striking visual style. Directed by Oscar-winning animator Alberto Mielgo, the episode follows a conquistador who encounters a mysterious golden siren in a forest. Its dreamlike atmosphere and heavy use of gold aesthetics, along with elaborated jewellery, tattoos, and surreal cinematic treatment, helped it stand out as one of the most celebrated entries from the anthology series. ‘Body Roll’ follows a somewhat similar visual setup. The video opens with a man dressed in medieval-inspired clothing running through a dense forest before arriving at a mysterious lake. As he bends down to drink water, viewers notice his tattooed appearance along with layered jewellery and accessories. Moments later, Nora Fatehi emerges dramatically from the water in a gold outfit paired with elaborate headgear, creating an almost mythical siren-like presence. The sequence then transitions into a stylized dance performance led by Nora and her troupe.

Soon after these visuals surfaced online, social media users began drawing direct comparisons to Jibaro. The conversation escalated further after an Instagram reel shared by content creator Filmy Sonia featured side-by-side clips from both projects. The comparison video quickly went viral and triggered even more discussion across platforms. Comment sections soon filled with mixed reactions from viewers, though many appeared convinced that the similarities went far beyond inspiration. One user wrote, “It’s giving ‘Jibaro’ from Love, Death and Robots… But love the twist!!!” while another commented, “The visuals are copied from Love, Death and Robots from Netflix.” A different user bluntly stated, “Copycats can’t create original.” Another viral comment read, “It’s called stolen. Not inspired.”

Instagram users also flooded Nora Fatehi’s posts with similar observations. One person commented, “Original banaonetflix sab dekhtehaiaajkal.” Another user wrote, “I just saw the teaser, and I felt like it isn’t this Jibaro? And it sure was a full-fledged copy.” While some viewers argued that the video may simply have been inspired by the Netflix episode, others strongly disagreed with that defense. One comment read, “Calling something ‘inspired’ is hard to digest when Bollywood has a history of copying.” Another added, “It really makes me mad when original art is copied with no credits given. And to what extent can you be inspired so as to copy the whole sequence??”

Despite the growing backlash, the controversy has also pushed ‘Body Roll’ deeper into online conversations. Clips from the music video continue circulating across Instagram, X, and YouTube, with viewers actively debating where the inspiration ends and imitation begins. Some fans have defended the artists, arguing that visual references are common in music videos and cinematic storytelling. On the other hand, others believe the resemblance is far too obvious to ignore. As for now, neither Nora Fatehi nor Honey Singh has publicly addressed the plagiarism accusations. Their teams have also remained silent regarding the comparisons to Jibaro or any possible creative references behind the music video’s concept.

For those unfamiliar, Love, Death + Robots is Netflix’s Emmy-winning animated anthology series created by Tim Miller and executive produced by David Fincher. The series has earned a massive global following for its experimental storytelling and groundbreaking animation styles. Among its many episodes, Jibarocontinues to stand out as one of the most visually celebrated chapters, praised for its immersive storytelling and haunting cinematic execution.
