PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson finally meet in the ‘Stateside’ remix video, and the result is a polished and way more fun vibe than any standard collaboration visual! Directed by Charlotte Rutherford, the video leans into contrast before letting the two worlds collide. It turns the remix into a small pop universe where aesthetics, attitude, and charm do most of the talking. The concept places both artists as mannequins in neighboring storefront windows.

PinkPantheress lives in a red-toned fantasy space that feels very soft, cheeky, and on brand for her. Guys line up to buy mugs, posters, and magazines with her face on them, like she is the pop culture souvenir she is. On the other hand, Zara Larsson runs a sun-soaked shop full of beach energy, bringing her forever hot energy to life. The props like towels, seashell magnets, and oversized inflatable dolphins also help the energy of the room feel brighter and more playful. The result is a campy aura without trying too hard!

What works best is how clearly the visuals reflect their musical identities. PinkPantheress brings her dreamy and slightly shy cool girl energy. Zara brings bold pop confidence with vacation mode turned on. The contrast makes their eventual crossover feel earned. When the wall between the shops finally comes down, the video shifts from rivalry to connection. It lands the point without forcing it: they work better together. And the song feels bigger because of it. The remix itself adds a brighter pop edge to PinkPantheress’ original song while keeping the soft and emotional pull intact. Just when you think that the song is your perfect vibe, Zara’s vocals slide in smoothly, making it even more fun. The balance of both the singers’ voices is as natural as it can get. It sounds like two talented artists are sharing space instead of competing for it, which mirrors the video’s story ideally.

The timing could not be better either! ‘Seaside’ just debuted on the Billboard Hot 100, marking another major moment in PinkPantheress’ steady rise. There was some early chatter when Zara was not credited on the chart entry. But that was quickly addressed, with PinkPantheress publicly calling for her flowers. That moment alone added another layer of warmth to the collaboration. It felt real. It felt like women supporting each other. It felt very on brand for both of them. Now, coming to the video, it understands that pop does not always need to be serious to be meaningful. Sometimes, it just needs good chemistry and a song that actually slaps! ‘Seaside’ delivers on all of them!

The ‘Symphony’ singer drew fresh attention over the weekend for speaking out after a U.S. federal agent fatally shot a woman in Minneapolis during an immigration operation. This sparked outrage and protests. Days later, another federal officer in the city shot a man in the leg during an enforcement stop, adding to rising tensions and scrutiny of federal actions in the whole country. “I fucking hate ICE,” Larsson wrote on her Instagram story along with other things she loves, including “immigrants, socialism, abortions, “slutty women,” trans people, and “criminals.” In a follow-up post, she justified her wording as well. “People in my DM[s] are like ‘aahhhh criminals?!?!?!?’ Girl YES, heavy on that.”

Larsson also shared that her boyfriend of nearly six years, referenced in the lyric “I’ve been touring stateside/Kissing my Swedish boy over FaceTime,” still cannot enter the U.S. due to an old weed possession charge in Sweden. “It’s been so long since he smoked that spliff that it’s officially gone from his name and he still can’t get in,” she said. Larsson continued, “I’m just saying there’s thousands and thousands of people who go to jail and prison over none violent crimes like drugs, mostly black and brown people, because of Ronald Reagan being racist in the 80s and fucking up communities. Idk about yall but I’d rather have someone smoking crack on my couch than a fucking ICE agent ewwwwwwwww.”
