FWICE Urged CBFC to NOT Grant Certificate to ‘Sardaarji 3’ for Featuring Pakistani Artists

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees or better known as FWICE has made a unique request to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to not provide any support of certification to upcoming film ‘Sardaarji 3’as it features Pakistani artists and does have right to be screened here since IND-PAK tension is still there.

They believe that casting Pakistani actor Hania Aamir could be a reason to spark more fire to the border tensions and they claimed that it created a storm two days back and the film should not get permission even though it is it is a Punjabi movie.

The protagonist of the movie Diljit Dosanjh has become a global star which his international collaboration and the being a part of the American pop culture. This artist has embraced his Punjabi roots through his creative works of music and acting. However, he is also facing a handful of complications due to this upcoming movie ‘Sardaarji 3’.

Previously, Diljit posted a bunch of pictures from behind the scenes of this upcoming movie and some people found out that one of the women actors from the photos is Hania who belongs to Pakistani film industry. Some people with extra ordinary minds also speculated the fact the Diljit’s t-shirt had a face of woman and that has to Hania and they are very certain of the fact.

Alas! Diljit posted an Instagram story with a picture of the T-shirt soon and it showed that the face was not Hania but the star from the “Everything Everywhere All At Once” and Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh. It is an amazing representation of how media and ‘Some’ people always want to mold facts in their own ways which is perhaps very useful in the situations of border tensions.

FWICE has issued a letter to CBFC Chairperson Prasoon Joshi and they urged to grant any certification to this Dosanjh-starrer film since the cast includes not just Hania but many other actors like Daniel Khawar, Saleem Albela, and Nasir Chinyoti.

It is very unfortunate to witness how war politics can affect the film and music industry which always embraced unity among all.
