DMR: Congratulations on the release of “Dancing All The Time”. What was the inspiration behind it?
Yrellify: Thank you! “Dancing All The Time” came from the idea of using music as an escape from everything happening around you. Life can be stressful and complicated, but sometimes you just need to switch everything off, feel the rhythm and dance. I wanted the song to capture that feeling of freedom — when the music takes over and, for a few minutes, nothing else matters.
DMR: How did the initial idea for “Dancing All The Time” come together?
Yrellify: It started with a very simple idea: “Dancing all the time.” I liked how repetitive and almost hypnotic those words felt. From there I started imagining the rhythm and atmosphere around them. I usually don’t want to overcomplicate things. If an idea creates a feeling immediately, I try to follow it and build the track around that emotion.
DMR: Was there a particular sound, beat, melody, or lyrical idea that sparked the idea for the track?
Yrellify: Definitely the rhythm and the repetitive vocal idea. I wanted something that would stay in your head after the song ended. The beat needed to have energy, but I also wanted the melody to create an emotional and slightly hypnotic atmosphere. For me, the best electronic music combines rhythm with a melody you remember.
DMR: How would you describe your approach to producing EDM and electronic music while also keeping your songwriting at the center?
Yrellify: I normally begin with a feeling or an idea rather than thinking purely about production. The technology and electronic elements are tools for turning that feeling into music. I love powerful kicks, deep bass, hypnotic synths and progressive builds, but there still needs to be something underneath all of that — a melody, lyric or emotion that gives the track an identity. I want people to remember the song, not just the production.
DMR: You describe yourself as a drummer at heart. How does your background with rhythm influence your music production?
Yrellify: Rhythm is probably one of the most important parts of my music. Being a drummer at heart means I’m constantly listening to the groove — the kick, percussion, bass and how everything interacts. Sometimes I’ll hear the rhythm of a track in my head before I hear the melody. I want my music to have a pulse that makes you instinctively want to move.
DMR: What was the most exciting part of the music-making process for this release?
Yrellify: The moment when all the separate elements suddenly became one song. You can work on a beat, melody, vocals and different sounds individually, but there is always that moment when everything clicks. With “Dancing All The Time,” it was when the groove and vocal hook started working together. That’s when I felt the track had found its identity.
DMR: Was there anything about the production of the song that challenged you?
Yrellify: Knowing when to stop. Electronic music gives you almost unlimited possibilities, so it’s very easy to keep adding things. The challenge was keeping the track powerful without losing the simplicity and hypnotic quality that made the original idea work. Sometimes removing something makes a track stronger than adding another layer.
DMR: Do everyday experiences and moments from your personal life often find their way into your lyrics and music production?
Yrellify: Absolutely. I write out of an ordinary life. Experiences, emotions, relationships, difficult moments, happiness, dreams — all of those things can become music. Sometimes it’s very direct and sometimes it’s hidden inside a melody or atmosphere. I think that’s an important part of Yrellify. Even when the music is designed for the dance floor, there is usually something personal behind it.
DMR: What do you hope listeners take away from the song?
Yrellify: Freedom. I want someone to put on “Dancing All The Time,” turn the volume up and forget everything else for a moment. You don’t always need to analyze music. Sometimes you just need to feel it. If someone hears the track and suddenly wants to move, dance or feels a little happier, then the song has done what I wanted it to do.
DMR: What can fans expect next from Yrellify?
Yrellify: A lot more music. I’m constantly experimenting and developing the Yrellify sound. I’m especially interested in pushing further into progressive and hypnotic electronic music — powerful drums, deeper bass, memorable melodies and emotional atmospheres. Every release teaches me something, and I feel like I’m still discovering what Yrellify can become. I want each new track to take that sound one step further.
