‘Driver’s License’ singer Olivia Rodrigo has just teased her upcoming album project in 2026, titled “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love”, releasing this summer!
The singer has already revealed news of the upcoming release through Instagram, and it was enough to create major buzz among the fans and music reporters. The post also showcases the album cover where Rodrigo could be seen swinging so high that it seems like upside down, and there’s a rush in the image in the sense of love and madness that feels very enthralling and breezy. Her pastel pink dress with the black platform shoes surely looks iconic, daring, and carefree.
The caption for the Instagram post reads, “My third album ‘you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love’ is out June 12th,” and she further added, “I am so proud of this record and I can’t wait for you to hear it. available for preorder now! 🩷” However, she also wiped the post yesterday, which denotes that she might have posted early, or it is enough for the anticipation.

In order to make this album, Rodrigo has worked with producer Dan Nigro, who is a long-time collaborator. Nigro has also worked with Olivia for her first two albums, “Sour” and “Guts.” There is not much information about the album yet, but the curious fans tried to decode some hints, such as the change in her “OR” logo and the color of the official website. The logo and its aesthetics could be witnessed through a mural in Los Angeles.
When it comes to the creative process for the album, Rodrigo told Vogue that the album was a “creative challenge to write from a joyful place. When you’re experiencing that you’re connected to someone, or feeling really good, you’re not in your head thinking about bittersweet poems!” The singer also said that all of the tracks from this upcoming album are “sad love songs”. She further added, “I realized all my favorite romantic love songs were beautiful because they had a tinge of fear or yearning in them.” Well, that is true, and perhaps one of the main reasons why fans find her songs relatable to their lives.
Rodrigo made significant progress in her musical journey after her debut music project ‘SOUR’, which was released in 2021.
