Badshah Announced a New Version for ‘Tateeree Phir Se’ After Backlash

Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, better known as rapper Badshah, became even more notorious with the backlash regarding his latest musical release, ‘Tateeree. This song has sparked a huge controversy among the Indian communities, and as it intensified, the artist decided to post an apology and come up with a new version of the track, which is not offensive.

The previous version of the song has been taken down from all platforms, and Badshah came to Instagram to share his apology on April 10. The artist shared that he will be releasing a new version of the track within a few days, and it will not consist of any objectionable elements of pedophilia.

He posted the apology in Hindi, which translates to  “To the people of Haryana and to everyone around the world, over the past few weeks, we have listened to concerns raised by government officials, the women’s commission, social workers, and others regarding our song Tateeree.” It further reads, “Based on that, we have made necessary changes and removed any part that was considered objectionable. I respect this feedback and the sentiment behind it… Along with being an artist, our responsibility towards our society and culture is equally important.”

The reference to ‘we’ and the well-articulated apology show that Badshah’s PR team is working pretty well, and they further added, “Tateeree Phir Se is a step forward in that direction. Your support, voice, and faith have kept this song alive.” The post ends with the declaration, “Tateeree Phir Se will be released on April 14. Please listen, share, and take it forward.”

A few days back, Badshah also had to apologize to the National Commission for Women (NCW) for this song, and he pledged that he will be working side by side with women’s empowerment, and he plans to support the education of 50 underprivileged girls. Whether it is a publicity stunt or damage control, it remains to be seen whether it works or not.

The song ‘Tateeree’ is a Haryanvi hip‑hop song that was released on March 1 of this year and created a backlash. This creative song, written by Badshah, included lyricism that sexualizes school girls, objectifies minors, and showcases the vulgar vision of the rapper. After the Haryana State Commission for Women summoned Badshah for such obscene content, and an FIR was filed against him, the rapper finally came back to his senses!
