Hamsadhwani Raga has been performed in Rome to Welcome PM Narendra Modi

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently visited Italy. During his visit to Rome, he praised all the artists who performed Indian classical music to welcome him in the city. It was seen that artists performed Hamsadhwani, which means ‘the cry of the swan’, to welcome him in Rome. Hamsadhwani is a Carnatic and Hindustani classical raga, which is really auspicious and bright.

It is one of the most popular ragas, which is an integral part of Indian classical music. It was created in the 18th century by the legendary Carnatic composer, named RamaswamiDikshitar. This specific type of raga is mostly used for opening shows. Thus, as this raga was played during the welcome ceremony of Narendra Modi in Rome, the event became even more brilliant.
