Sharon Stone is suing rapper Chanel West Coast for suing the actress’ likeness in her song Sharon Stoned.
According to the lawsuit obtained, the 61-year-old actress stated that the rapper is trying to utilize her extraordinary fame and popularity for her benefits. Chanel West Coast whose real name old Chelsea Dudley, has reportedly used the name Sharon Stone for a total count of thirty-three times and the name Sharon for ninety none times.
The song named Sharon Stoned which was released by Chanel West Coast back in 2018 has the name Sharon repeated several times throughout the song. To which Stone has said that the music video of the song has been produced to take advantage of her name, identity, persona, and also her performances in Basic Instinct and Casino.
The suit reveals that rapper Dudley had choreographed the video to recreate some of Sharon Stone’s iconic movie scenes.
The famous actress also added that the video has been particularly designed to evoke her persona and also went on to add that the 31-year-old rapper has this habit of stealing penchant from celebrity icons and has done the same in her song by repeating her name consistently.
The suit stated that Stone can be in full charge of how her name, likeness, image, identity, and persona will be used in the work.
The lawsuit further continued to say that this celebrity stunt has been done by rap artist Dudley, just to stir focus on her work as she is striving to achieve success by just trading with the celebrity status and fame of others.
To further prove its point, the lawsuit sited an example saying that in a recent article, Defendant Dudley had hot all the internet talking about her when she released a statement comparing herself to the two most gifted icons of music, Drake and Kanye West. The author also described how the rapper aims to extract fame by dragging celebrity names to boost her rapping career.
News says that Stone is suing Chanel West Coast for damages and settlement of any profits which she has earned for the song and the video.
The furious actress is also known to sue Dudley for unhealthy competition and violations of her right for publicity and is also seeking a command to restrict Chanel from using her name or image.
Stone is now demanding a jury trial in the breach, to which Chanel West Coast has not yet dropped any comment.
