The 2025 BET Awards was an eventful night, celebrating and honoring black talents across entertainment industries. Here is the full list of the night’s winners.
Kendrick Lamar led the night with 10 nominations and took home four major awards, including the Album of the Year trophy. While accepting his award, he stated, “BET has always made sure they’re representing the culture right and always put me in the midst of the cycle of what we represent.”
Rapper Doechii, who won Best Female Hip-Hop Artist at the 2025 BET Awards, used her time on stage to speak out against U.S. President Donald Trump. She called him out for sending military forces to stop protests in Los Angeles, where both the National Guard and U.S. Marines have been deployed.
The protests began on Friday after ICE carried out raids in Latino neighborhoods, targeting people for arrest and deportation. Doechii said, “I want y’all to think about what kind of government this is. Every time we speak up and protest, they send the military to shut us down.” Her words also got loud cheers from the crowd.
When it came to the acting world, Cynthia Erivo and Denzel Washington won big, showcasing their strong presence on the big screen. The sports categories highlighted young talent, with Angel Reese named Sportswoman of the Year and Jalen Hurts earning the Sportsman title.

Jamie Foxx, known for movies like Django, Day Shift, and Annie, was honored with one of the top awards at the 2025 BET Awards. He received the Ultimate Icon Award, a big moment in the night. While accepting the award, Foxx got emotional and broke down in tears. He said, “All the time. I cannot even begin to express the love that I feel from everybody out there.” The crowd gave him a standing ovation, demonstrating the immense love and respect he has earned over the years.
The show blended entertainment and celebration of Black talents, giving flowers to both legends and rising stars. The 2025 BET Awards proved once again why it is such a key event in the industry with its usual laughter, emotion, and unforgettable moments.
