British popstar Dua Lipa said, “You know, I’ve always had quite special love for Toronto,” and offered one of the best concerts in Canada after her last visit in 2022.
The Radical Optimism Tour started back in November 2024, and the artist performed on many continents, namely Asia, Europe, and Australia. Now, she is performing at the only Canadian Stop at Toronto, which took place at a 20,000-capacity arena. Lipa made sure to provide a handful of memorable moments with five outfits and a special tribute to the Canadian legend Nelly Furtado.

She brought the drama on stage with a voice note from Cil, where she breaks up with her former partner and says “I don’t want you anymore,” repeatedly. And then she embarked on with some of the smash hit tracks from her discography, such as “One More Shot,” “Bloodsucker”, and others that showcased her energetic soul pop creations. She also performed a comparatively newer track called ‘Loser’. There was a fair amount of influence of ocean waves at the show, which can be considered as a main motif of the Radical Optimism tour. There was a clip of waves shown to the concertgoers, and then Lipa emerged at the peak of the waves just like a mermaid would. And then she performed the song “Training Season” while the visuals gradually changed into a red inverted ocean.
The Night One at Toronto lasted for nearly two hours, and it was enough for the non-stop hits by Dua Lipa. The set list for the show included “Break My Heart”, “One Kiss,” which is a collab with Calvin Harris, and also the smash hits like “Levitating” and “Physical”. Towards the end of the show, the artist offered some of the older hits like “Be the One”, “New Rules”, etc, to name some. The artist said to the crowd, “It makes me emotional because of the journey I took to get here,” with a nostalgic set that spans over a decade. During the performance of the Barbie soundtrack, she also danced with the chorus.

Other than spending heartfelt moments and interactions with the fans, the Grammy-winning artist also offered a tribute to Canadian local legend Nelly Furtado. It is her signature style to pay respect to the artists of the region where she is performing. She performed Nelly’s “I’m Like a Bird” and the whole stadium lit up. The opening night of the North American leg was not just a music concert but a celebration of Dua Lipa’s success and humble self.
