Harry Styles kicked off the ‘Together Together’ tour in Amsterdam with amazing vocals, nonstop energy, bewitching charm, and a crowd completely under his spell.

Amsterdam may be one of Europe’s calmer capitals, but for one weekend in May, the city turned into the center of Harry Styles mania. Fans poured in from every direction for the opening night of his ‘Together Together’ world tour at Johan Cruijff Arena, a launch that carried huge expectations long before Styles even stepped on stage. Since the singer plans to perform in only one city per continent this year, the atmosphere around the show felt closer to a global event than a regular tour stop. Walking through Amsterdam before the concert, it became obvious how much of the crowd had traveled internationally. English accents filled the streets almost as much as Dutch conversations did. Inside the stadium, Styles jokingly asked how many people were not from Amsterdam, and the reaction nearly shook the venue. The audience was loud from the first minute anyway, but that moment confirmed how far fans had come for this opening night.

The show began with Elvis Presley’s 1972 version of ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ playing through the arena before a cinematic intro video appeared on the giant screens. Styles walked through a garden before answering a phone call from a woman asking, “Harry, are you coming out tonight?” Seconds later, the singer emerged wearing black trousers, sneakers, and a bright red leather jacket as the band launched into ‘Are You Listening Yet’ from his latest album, ‘Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally’.

While the new record has received a more divided response compared to his earlier releases, the material transformed in the live setting. Backed by a massive band that expanded to nearly 18 musicians during certain moments, Styles gave the songs a scale and energy that the studio versions only hinted at. Still, the biggest reason the performance worked was his stage presence. He moved through the enormous walkways with total ease, balancing charm, humor, confidence, and theatrical flair without ever looking calculated.

He quickly rewarded longtime fans with familiar favorites, including ‘Golden’, ‘Adore You’, ‘Watermelon Sugar’, and ‘Music for a Sushi Restaurant’. The crowd screamed every word back at him, but the pacing of the setlist clearly aimed to guide people gradually toward the newer material. By the time he introduced what he called ‘act one’ of the show, the audience was fully locked in. The middle stretch became one of the night’s strongest sections. During ‘American Girls’ and several tracks from the new album, the band performed from the center of the arena walkway while Styles danced alongside performers during ‘Treat People With Kindness’ and ‘Pop’. He also spent time interacting with fans, helping one attendee named Theresa locate her mother before leading the stadium in a birthday sing-along for another fan named Jana. Those unscripted moments kept the massive production from losing its warmth.

The encore delivered the emotional payoff. ‘Matilda’ brought a softer atmosphere before ‘Sign of the Times’ soared across the arena with the help of a full string section. Styles closed the night with ‘As It Was’, sprinting across the stage runways while the crowd erupted around him.
