Avery A. Greene, also known as Every Other Green, has dropped his debut album, named ‘Irreparable Mistakes -> Irreversible Changes’. This guy, who’s not a kid anymore, only in published artist years, has been writing songs since the age of 18 – over two decades ago. Now, he is putting his efforts into bringing out the soundtrack of his life. The eleven-track album is reaching out to its listeners and making a great impact on the audience. Recently, we got the chance to have a chat with him, and this is how it went-
DMR: Hello Avery, congratulations on your very first album release! How are you feeling about Irreparable Mistakes -> Irreversible Changes?
Green: I honestly still can’t believe it’s out and that everyone can hear it. The possibility of it all is still really new in my life.
DMR: What are your expectations for this release?
Green: I think that, like any artist, deep inside I really want to be seen. Not that I ever thought my own life: experiences and feelings stand out from everybody else’s, but I did feel that when combined with the melodies I wrote, I was doing something different that is me. I guess I’m looking to hear from other people who share my feelings and appreciation for this music genre. Oh, and I really hope to collaborate with other musicians and create as much music as I possibly can!
DMR: As you mentioned, you have been writing songs for quite some time. Did you always plan to publish them?
Green: Well, when I was very young, I had this idea that I would be part of the music industry. Because I grew up in Tel Aviv, Israel, and my style was very British Pop, I understood I would need to approach record companies located very far away. So, when I turned twenty, while studying music I also trained to become a flight attendant. Both endeavors ended very soon, and realizing my initial concept was out of reach, I decided to give up and walk a totally different path.
DMR: What inspired you to start writing lyrics?
Green: Don’t tell anyone, but I think it was really a boy band named Take That. I had a secret dream of becoming part of them, I think it was even a secret from myself because I was also very shy. When they broke up and their lead singer, Gary Barlow, came out with his debut single –
“Forever Love,” I immediately became very jealous of him and was determined to write a song of my own that would be better than his. Surprisingly, I had “a greatest love in music” that was very different from Take That. They were the Pet Shop Boys, and their lyrical world was something I was fascinated with.
DMR: Who encouraged you to become a songwriter?
Green: I remember back in music school, we had a course on writing music on the computer. I wrote a waltz named “Paulo and I,” and the teacher came over and played it. Halfway through, she stopped and told me that she finds it very boring, that everything is right where it should be, and that it isn’t what music is about. When she turned away, a classmate turned around to me with tears in her eyes and told me it was one of the most beautiful melodies she had ever heard. I think it was that contrast between rejection and approval that made me determined never to stop writing.
DMR: What music genres do you resonate with the most?
Green: I am a big fan of the Pet Shop Boys. They make the most breathtaking melodies with profound storytelling, delivered in a way no one else does. It’s the sincerity and sadness that lie beneath an epic, grandiose production that makes my body tremble. Apart from them, I truly appreciate anyone who perfects classical harmony within pop music.
DMR: What elements have most influenced your writing?
Green: I believe it’s the past—almost always viewed through a glass-half-full perspective. I was a sad and lonely boy for much of my early life, and that feeling still stays with me.
DMR: How was the journey of making this album?
Green: After spending years walking a different path in life, one day I heard about Suno—and it was a red-letter day I wasn’t even expecting. I think the process started back around November 2025. I went back to everything I had created—three albums in total, tried making sense of it – wondering if the songs can exist in todays’ world. Actually, the current release isn’t the first one I wrote; it’s actually the second. Armed with this new and exciting tool I started bringing my ideas to life and I couldn’t believe my ears.
DMR: Did you face any complications during production?
Green: Oh, YES! The fact that Warren—the singer—is not a real human seemed to bother a lot of people around me, but I felt differently. There is a lot of discussion today about AI-generated music, which I can totally understand. I don’t know how I would feel about a song generated entirely by a computer. But in my case, Suno only brought my production ideas to life and made me sing a lot better than I actually can! It’s still a bit of a secret, but my next album is going to feature my boyfriend singing. He has a rare voice, and it will make the music feel much more personal.
DMR: The album features a total of 11 tracks. What was the main concept behind it?
Green: This collection is the first step I’ve taken in an unrelenting exploration of the self. It shines a spotlight on the defining fractures of our lives—those fleeting moments when something inside a person shifts, and the pieces can never quite fit the same way again. It is a testament to the mistakes and subsequent metamorphoses that forge who we become.
DMR: Are you planning to make any new tracks?
Green: I am! My second album, titled Waiting for the Trouble of These Times, is already in the works and should be out next year.
DMR: When is your next release?
Green: The fourth single from the album, “This Part of Your Life,” is due for release in late October, and it’s going to include a new single version along with a few more surprises.
