13-Year-Old Alli Cazaam Sets Fire to the Music Scene With Her New Single ‘Alakazaam!’

It is time to join an exceptional techno musical journey with Alli Cazaam, a highly talented singer-songwriter who just dropped a single named Alakazaam!’. Just like the name suggests, the track creates a magical invocation through music and Alli did a perfect job to capture it. While she prepares herself for the upcoming album project, we thank the artist for sharing a few words with us even with a tough schedule.

DMR: ‘Alakazaam!’ is really creating magic in the music scene. How do feel about the track?

Alli: I love it. I actually wrote it about a boy that I had a crush on in school. I never got the chance to tell him before his family moved out of state. He always said, “When I look up you are everywhere!” My Godfather influenced me a lot also. He also loves Halloween and magic, and of course space. My Mother died when I was really young so this song is kind of dedicated to her also.

DMR: What was the concept behind this track?

Alli: Well, my Dad worked with Miley Cyrus during the Hannah Montana era at Disney. He      kept in touch with some of the big shots over there. One day last year, I was visiting Disney Corporate Headquarters and two creators approached me while I was singing part of this song to a friend of my Dad’s while dressed in my black rocker outfit. They jokingly commented “Well, there’s the replacement for Hannah Montana! All she needs is a catchy theme song.” I finished the song later that week because I guess that it pissed me off what they said. I am Alli Cazaam not Hannah Montana!

DMR: You have started your musical journey quite early. Do you find that challenging?

Alli: Yes. I realize that others have taken this same journey and how much harder it is for others to take our music as seriously as Madonna or Lady Gaga.

DMR: Tell us the story behind your middle name ‘Cazaam’.

Alli: “Pops” – my Dad loves magic and was inspired to give me the name Cazaam after my Mother named me Alli. He always says it when I’m in trouble, like: “ Alli Cazaam! You’re not going anywhere dressed like that!”

DMR: Would you like to shed some light on your upcoming musical album ‘INCANTATION’?

Alli: The second single to be released,  “I Drown In My Tears” is probably my favorite song from the album because it is about overcoming pain. That’s really what the album ‘Incantation’ is about too. Just saying a few words or hearing a few words from someone else to make things better.

DMR: Name us some of your creative influences who inspired you.

Alli: Sa-Fire, of course. Greatest freestyle singer ever! (I do freestyle in this song)  Also, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift (A friend of the family), Prince, and hard rock, like KISS.

DMR: Who helped you to pursue your passion for music?

Alli: My Dad of course. I hung out in production studios with him meeting a lot of R&B legends like Prince, and Chaka Khan. I was inspired by learning of their amazing music.

DMR: So, Do you find any obstacles in the modern music industry?

Alli: Yes. Popularity is everything. If no one knows you and you haven’t collaborated with someone famous it takes a lot longer to be accepted. I don’t pay attention to awards. The only thing that counts is if their music inspires you to be like them.

DMR: What tip would you like to give to your fellow emerging artists?

Alli: Don’t sweat the small stuff because when one door closes another door opens with even better opportunity.

DMR: Do you have any plans for the future for collaborations?

Alli: Just dreaming, but I would love to work with Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers, or Trevor Horne

DMR: Do you want to experiment with other music genres than dance/techno?

Alli: R&B and Pop are top of my list

DMR: Would you like to share a message for your listeners?

Alli: If you ever falter in life, just say my name and all of your hopes and dreams will come true! Just kidding, find something in life that you’ve always wanted to do and take it on. No one is great at everything, but you can be really good at something you love and that makes you happy.
