With a shape-shifting musicality and spontaneous flow of positivity, the astonishing rapper from Tampa FL, Don Drago is coming with his new song ‘Immortals’ featuring Aeva Alexander. It is going to conquer the planet of hip hop enthusiasts on September 4, 2020, releasing it on every streaming site. He has been practicing music forever, since his childhood he was drawn to identify the mechanisms and dynamics of making euphoric symphonies. Later, he was influenced by musicians like Linkin Park, Hollywood Undead, and OutKast. He found a connection with its rhythms and the words in his hearts; he felt connected with thousands of people through hip hop music that eventually motivated him to make music drawing influence from modern rap heroes such as Post Malone, Lil Durk, and Machine Gun Kelly.

Don Drago

Don Drago has known success with the hit rap song ‘Imagine’. If you dare to travel through different layers of the universe with the hypnotic bass and ambient soundscape and find yourself alone and free on an alienated land, then try the song. The official video of ‘Dark’ spills his secret stash of variations. He is excited to work with Aeva Alexander on the next project ‘Immortals’ that will be releasing next month. It is an unforgettable moment for the team to take his interview when he is so busy with his latest music release.

Daily Music Roll: How excited are you about your latest music release ‘Immortals’?

Don Drago: This is probably the most excited I’ve been about a release in recent memory because it’s a different style than I’m used to, and I’m just really excited to see how people react to it.

DMR: You’ve worked with a new artist, Aeva Alexander, in this project. How was the experience of working with her in the studio?

Don Drago: Well, the first session was literally our first time ever meeting as well as working together so at first it was kind of just introductions and making sure we were on the same page with everything. But after the first hour or two, everything started clicking and that’s when we caught a good groove. We recorded the song at Grandbay Studios in Tampa, with Skyler and it ended up being a great experience getting to work with two other great musical minds.

DMR: Are you looking forward to producing more songs with her?

Don Drago: Yes, I actually have an album coming out toward the end of this year called (Dragon Spirit) and she will be making another appearance on a song called (Long Way From Heaven) it’s an awesome song.

DMR: How did you find the new artist on your list?

Don Drago: Well, we actually had a mutual friend named (Raw Falcone) and were initially supposed to meet at a show that both of us were scheduled to perform at the end of last year. But after one of my boys went into the hospital that night I wasn’t able to make the show. So we kind of knew of each other but never actually met until that first day in the studio.

DMR: Let’s talk about your biggest hits, ‘Imagine’. How did the craze that followed it change you?

Don Drago: Yea it was awesome I got a lot of love from people saying how (Imagine) Inspired or touched them, and its just a great feeling when you can be part of something that brings value and Inspiration to other peoples lives.

DMR: What inspired you to write and produce something like ‘Imagine’?

Don Drago: Well (Imagine) was definitely a collective effort and I loved contributing to it, but I have to give the majority of the props to Melodic, who was the one who originally came up with the idea for the song.

DMR: Are you going to make only hip hop music for a while? The world has seen your dexterity of shifting from one version to another in your previous works. So, is it all about hip hop now?

Don Drago: Thats a great question, and one of the things I love about being an Independent Artist is I don’t have to choose just one Genre. I feel like my art is a reflection of how I feel or feelings I’ve had in the past and I don’t want to limit myself. I just love to create whether that be hip-hop, rock, or even pop, I just want to make great influential music and try to add value to the world while doing what I love.

DMR: You talked about Linking Park and Post Malone as your icons. What is the one thing that you find common between them?

Don Drago: I love how they both don’t limit themselves to just one genre. They are multidimensional and cross different genres together creating their own style, they are true musicians.

DMR: When did you first get influenced to try hip hop?

Don Drago: Well I started rapping and writing lyrics around 11 years old, and on top of my many musical influences, I would say my environment and where I grew up also played a big role.
At about the age of 15, I moved from Clearwater FL to Tampa FL and that was when I got my first experience with recording and I fell in love with it.

DMR: You are a lyrical genius and miraculous king of hip hop melodies. Have you earned the virtue from intense practice or, it doesn’t run in your blood?

Don Drago: It is 1000% intense practice and hard work. When I first started making music and writing I was awful haha. But over time after continuously focusing on getting better and putting in the hours over the course of years, I finally started seeing the results. I think the trick is to never think you know everything and no matter how good you get to always keep striving to be your best!

DMR: What are your plans in 2020, any other singles or music videos coming up?

Don Drago: Yes so I’m dropping my album (Dragon Spirit) In December of this year, which I’m very excited about.
I’m also going to be releasing one single a month from the album leading up to its release date. And yes there will be more videos coming soon!

DMR: How did you come up with the idea of ‘Immortals’? Do you want to tell your fans anything about it?

Don Drago: I came up with Immortals sitting in my car on a rainy afternoon and was just thinking about what is going to happen when all of this is over. Like where do we go? And will we be remembered once we are gone. I started thinking about what my Legacy is and how I want to be remembered. That’s what motivated Immortals those personal questions. Lastly, I just want to thank all my fans and supporters, and everyone who helped with this project means the world to me and you guys are the best! Stay blessed my Dragons!
