Gen Frequenz Project

DMR: Hello Mr. Gerrald Samraj aka Gen Frequenz Project. It is coming to know that you are going to release your song ‘Flight Back 2 Earth’. What was the story behind making this track?

Gen Frequenz Project: I wrote this Single on a plane back to my home after work Flying from Oklahoma back to New York. Taking off during sunrise and seeing beyond the horizon I started to question life as I had been recovering from a horrible motorcycle accident. I was wondering why I survived and the purpose of life. I felt as though we were souls sent on a plane back to earth from some place beyond time and space to live life and collect data and send it back to the source where we came from. Or maybe we are all part of the source. This song involves artists around the world. David Copper from the US. King David from France. Donia from Egypt and IB delight from Nigeria on the saxophone. Waqas Ali Waqy on flute from Pakistan. Arjun Menon on guitars from South Africa. Kept it universal and wanted to include all kinds of flavors of music because we are all part of this one purpose. I was born in Saudi Arabia and always had a fascination for Arabic. French had been one of my favorite sounding languages and wanted to incorporate that as well. Hence the name Gen Frequenz Project which means the project of the evolution of new frequencies.

DMR: What has inspired you to make this piece of music?

Gen Frequenz Project: The musical style was mostly inspired from the bands I used to listen to. I used to associate Daft Punk being a dance funk band and always associated themselves with space and out of this world concepts. So part of the music I made follows some their cues. A little flavor of cold play too. Cheb mami in stings track gave me the idea to add some Arabic vocals. Plus I always thought French sounded great in rap after I heard K – Mel. I had to Add some Bansuri flute to add my culture music into it with a little bit of jazz saxophone.

DMR: Would you tell about your journey of making the soundscape?

Gen Frequenz Project: The sounds had a blend of sounds I had recorded during my travels for work. I usually travel a lot for work using planes and trains mostly plus a little bit of the traffic sounds from New York.

Blended these sounds in the mix using Protools. Although the concept was first started on my iPad using garageband I had made most of my elements added on into the mix using Protools. This track was specifically made to be listened to in Spatial audio and mixed in Dolby Atmos. This Spatial audio mix can be best experienced on Streaming services such as Tidal, Apple music and Amazon music,

Guitars I used at home were the Fender Telecaster for electric and Ibanez Sr 6 string.

Pads and synth work from Omnishphere.

DMR: How you got the idea of making this track?

Gen Frequenz Project: The initial idea came about by messing on my iPad on the garage band app while I was on the plane during travel for work. Sitting by the window, looking at the sunrise during my flight. Thinking about life.

DMR: How have you accumulated so many talented people from all around the world?

Gen Frequenz Project: I was able to coordinate that using Fiverr. It has become easy to collaborate internationally through the technology available today

DMR: If you were not an artist, what would you try as your career?

Gen Frequenz Project: I am actually working full time as a Support Engineer for Calrec Audio and use whatever free time I get as an Artist. My Artist name is Gen Frequenz Project

DMR: When are you going to release the song?

DMR: Is there any latest thing that audiences will get to listen to soon?

Gen Frequenz Project: My next upcoming release as a producer is a track called Star Spangled Anthem to be released for the 4th of July which is the national anthem incorporating the top gun anthem track to it as a blend. Its going to be released under the band Sunrise Synchronicity.

Fetaured Karel Ruzika on Saxophone. Arjun Menon and myself on guitars and Harry Vaughn on Drums. The rest of that track was produced by me.

DMR: Are you willing to go on any shows in the recent days?

Gen Frequenz Project: Right now, I don’t have the resources to perform. However, I do attend concerts and musical performances.

DMR: When we will get to hear about your upcoming song?

Gen Frequenz Project: The Star spangled Anthem should be out by June 30th and the remix of Flight back to earth should be out in September.

DMR: Is there any message that would like to give to your fans?

Gen Frequenz Project: We all have a purpose for our existence on this earth. No matter how bad the pain you endure just know that it’s all temporary. For we are all eternal beings and love connects us all. Music is the universal language of love.
