Dynamic and versatile music artist from Los Angeles, Nayan Raina, is embracing his cultural roots by making his debut Punjabi track called ‘LOVIN’. Energetic, romantic, and melodic, this song is another masterpiece on the artist’s prolific musical journey. DMR: Congratulations on the release of ‘LOVIN’! Fans are ‘lovin’ it, and what about you?
Nayan: AWW… Thank you so much. Yes, I’m LOVIN it too! Super Ecstatic!!
DMR: Please tell us briefly about the creative process of this song.
Nayan: I wanted to create a happy, dance tune. Something that highlights the beauty of a woman. So.. it was a no-brainer.
DMR: This is your debut Punjabi song. Why did you think of making a Punjabi Anthem?
Nayan: It’s my native language. The truest way to express love’ and ‘emotions. So, I had to do it. Especially now Punjabi songs are beginning to reach the global audience.
DMR: Fans have been waiting long since your last release, ‘BUTTER’. What took so long?
Nayan: Yes. BUTTER actually was a Banger. That jam got Radio Airplay on the likes of Kiss FM.. But then bad things started to happen. Some personal tragedies. Loss of my lovely parents back-to-back. But now I’m back. Stronger than ever.
DMR: Please navigate us through your whole day as an iconic music artist.
Nayan: I start my day with my daily prayers. Then Gym. Breakfast. Then hit the studio. I spend hours and hours creating. It’s so fulfilling.
DMR: Whom would you like to consider as your creative influence?
Nayan: Hmm.. There are a few.. Grew up to the sounds of Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson. Then came Drake.. Bieber. The Weeknd. Ariana Grande.
DMR: Since you have not yet, would you like to collaborate with other artists in the coming days?
Nayan: Yes. I’d like to do a duet with Selena Gomez, Becky G and ooh, Ariana Grande. Of course. To me.. She’s the GOAT.
DMR: From an underdog to a celebrity, you have seen it all. What advice would you like to give to the emerging music artists in the industry who want to become successful like you?
Nayan: Aww.. that’s so nice of you. Not a celebrity. I just love to create and entertain. My advice will be to not let little setbacks get in your way and keep working hard towards your craft.
DMR: Your music creations are soaked in pop flavors. Would you like to experiment with other genres too?
Nayan: Ooh, I LOVE pop. Yes, I would def like to try my hand at some country music.
DMR: Please shed some light on your upcoming music projects for the coming days.
Nayan: That’s my fav question. I’m working on a couple of EPs. In English. And another EP in Punjabi/ Hindi. Yess. I’m super excited for what’s to come.
DMR: What kind of obstacles have you faced in the modern music industry?
Nayan: Typecasting was one. But I started to use being a minority to my advantage and it’s helping.
DMR: Is there anything you want to share with your fans?
Nayan: I sing in Spanish too and am releasing some Latin Pop songs in 2026. This will be OUR YEAR to celebrate!! So stay tuned…
