The biggest music festival in the USA of Springtime has just released the lineup and there are mostly international artists dominating the list this year. On January 10th this famous music festival officially released the list of performers who will perform at the Coachella grounds and Blackpink made history with the released list. The K-Pop group became the first ever K-pop artist and group to headline a music festival in the USA. They are set to perform and open day two of the festival where the first day will be opening with the international superstar, Latin rapper, and artist Bad Bunny.

The star-studded lineup for the music festival includes Bad Bunny, Blackpink, and Frank Ocean as headliners when it returns to Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, this spring. As it was announced previously, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will once again be happening across two weekends, April 14-16 and 21-23.

Blackpink previously appeared in the music festival in 2019 where they became the first Korean all-female group to ever perform in the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. This time it will mark their first show as headliners on the festival stage. It will also make them join Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Beyonce, Billie Eilish, and Björk as female headliners at one of the biggest spring music festivals in the United States of America. The girls will be performing for two nights on two different weekends, on April 15 and April 22nd.

After the world domination of K-Pop, this is definitely another recognition that the entertainment industry of South Korea is gaining. While BTS took over the world and the USA with their music, Blackpink’s appearance was late but carried the same weight. K-Pop groups like Blackpink, BTS, SEVENTEEN, twice, etc. are the reason why Korean music is currently the top trending music in the world.

Other headliners like Bad Bunny also created history as she became the first artist from Latin America and also the first Spanish-speaking musician to headline the music festival. Alongside Blackpink, he also performed in the 2019 set where the third headliner, Frank Oceans was last seen on the stage of Coachella in 2012.
