Brakence Marks His Return with ‘Ready or Not’

After a long stretch away from the spotlight, Brakence is officially back with new music. The Ohio singer-songwriter has returned with ‘Ready or Not’. This album marks his first release since his acclaimed second album, ‘Hypochondriac’, which arrived in 2022. The new track opens another chapter for an artist who has built a reputation around emotionally charged songwriting and unconventional production. It gives the sound that continues to shift with every release an even grander presence.

‘Ready or Not’ arrives after a relatively quiet period for Brakence as a solo artist. His last full-length project, ‘Hypochondriac’, placed chronic pain and the complicated emotions surrounding it at the center of its creative world. In 2023, he joined Quadeca for ‘A La Carte’. It contributed to a collaboration that gave fans another glimpse of his work following the release of his last album. The following year, he appeared on two tracks from Colliding with Mars’ album ‘Time to Meet God’. This continued a pattern of carefully chosen guest appearances. He also contributed to Aries’ ‘Sleepwalker’ last year, adding another collaboration to the period between his second album and his latest release. These appearances have kept the artist connected to listeners while leaving plenty of space around his own music.
