Singer Charlie Puth and his fans honored Matthew Perry by singing the theme song from ‘Friends’ during his concert that took place on Sunday. Perry, better known as Chandler Bing from ‘Friends’ has worked with NBC from 1994 to 2004 and it is not required to say that; it is one of the timeless TV series that grew in popularity with each passing era.

The tributary moment took place at Puth’s concert in Australia as reports said that Perry died on Saturday at his home in Los Angeles from an apparent incident of drowning. Worldwide fans of ‘Friends’ have not recovered from this shock yet and it is quite unfortunate for the industry to lose this gem at the age of 54 years.

Charlie Puth is scheduled to to perform back-to-back shows at the Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne both, on Sunday and Monday. One of the fans and a TikToker has posted a short video where Charlie Puth could be seen performing the first verse of the ‘Friends’ sitcom’s title track, the widely popular song by The Rembrandts, titled “I’ll Be There for You”. This song has a special place in the fans’ hearts just like Chandler Bing and the song embraced his presence. The video has already gained 700,000 likes, 27,000 shares, and 2,000 comments on Sunday only.

What made it even more emotional is the transition from Puth’s 2015 hit song, “See You Again.” featuring Wiz Khalifa, this song was also a tribute to the late Paul Walker. The actor died in a car crash in 2013. He starred in the movie franchise ‘Fast and Furious’ and the song was featured in ‘Furious 7’, and Paul died before it was released.

A lot of fans have praised Puth for honoring Perry as they know Charlie himself is a self-declared “Friends” superfan. He was quizzed by Courteney Cox, also known as Monica Geller from the series back in October 2019. In the same month, Puth also appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” where he met Jennifer Aniston, or let’s just say, Rachel Green.

According to the authorities in Los Angeles, Perry was found by the ‘hot tub’ around around 4 p.m. on Saturday. The ongoing investigation on the matter indicated that there were no drugs at the scene or any foul play involved. However, more investigation is required.
