A massive fire broke out on the grounds of Tomorrowland and destroyed the music festival’s main stage near Antwerp on Wednesday. The unfortunate accident happened just one day before thousands of fans were set to arrive. Organizers confirmed there were no injuries and said that the festival will still go ahead as planned over the next two weekends. Photos and videos shared online showed flames ripping through the stage structure, with thick black smoke rising into the sky and spreading toward nearby woodland. The cause of the fire is still unknown, but emergency crews responded quickly to control the blaze. Despite the setback, organizers remain confident that Tomorrowland will continue without any major disruption. Plans are already underway to adjust staging and keep the experience alive for attendees.

“Due to a serious incident and fire on the Tomorrowland Mainstage, our beloved Mainstage has been severely damaged,” the organizers posted on the official website. “We can confirm that no one was injured during the incident.” “We can announce that, DreamVille (campsite) will open tomorrow (Thursday, July 17) as planned and will be ready for all DreamVille visitors. All Global Journey activities in Brussels and Antwerp will take place as planned. We are focused on finding solutions for the festival weekend (Friday – Saturday – Sunday). More updates and detailed information will be communicated as soon as possible,” the full statement read.

Around 100,000 people are expected to arrive in the town of Boom for the Tomorrowland music festival, with many planning to stay at the on-site DreamVille campsite. Organizers confirmed that the campsite would open as scheduled on Thursday, despite the fire that destroyed the main stage just a day earlier.

The festival, known for its grand production and huge crowds, will still host top electronic acts like David Guetta, Lost Frequencies, Armin Van Buuren, and Charlotte de Witte. Performances begin Friday for the first weekend. Two-thirds of the shows were originally split between the main stage and the Freedom Stage, and organisers are now working to make quick adjustments. Several hundred firefighters had battled the blaze to save the main stage. While the cause is still under investigation, officials believe the fire was accidental. Antwerp prosecutors have launched a formal inquiry.

Tomorrowland was founded 20 years ago by two Belgian brothers and has since grown into one of the most famous music festivals in the world. Despite the setback, organizers remain determined to keep the event on track. The official authority is still promising fans an unforgettable experience across both weekends.
