Hip-hop fans in India are in for a major treat as the world-famous Rolling Loud festival is coming to Mumbai later this year. This marks the festival’s first-ever edition in India, expanding the global reach of one of the biggest hip-hop events around. The Indian version of Rolling Loud is being launched in partnership with District by Zomato, which will handle production for the event. This collaboration aims to bring a fresh and high-energy hip-hop experience to the country’s live music scene.

Rolling Loud was founded in 2015 by Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif under Rolling Loud LLC. It started in Miami and quickly grew to become one of the most iconic hip-hop festivals worldwide. Rolling Loud expanded beyond the US over the years and hosted editions in Thailand, Australia, and Portugal. This helped one of the biggest festivals in the world gain massive fan followings.

While the full lineup and official dates for the Mumbai event are yet to be announced, organizers have confirmed the festival will feature two stages. This setup promises a diverse range of performances and a dynamic atmosphere for attendees. Rolling Loud’s launch in India is also a sign of how fast the live events market is growing in the country. In 2024, India’s live events sector grew by 15% year over year. This showed a rising appetite for large-scale music festivals and concerts. Experts predict this market will continue expanding at an impressive rate, with a projected growth of 17.57% between 2025 and 2034.

With Rolling Loud’s entry into India, fans can look forward to an electrifying celebration of hip-hop culture. It is a big moment for the country’s music scene and a sign of the growing global influence of India’s live entertainment industry.

Zingler and Cherif explained their decision to expand Rolling Loud to India, highlighting the country’s growing music scene: “The hip-hop scene in India has been booming, and bringing the festival to Mumbai felt like the right decision. We’re excited to create a space where Indian fans can celebrate the artists they love, while also introducing international acts to a new audience. For us, it’s always been about building community through hip-hop — and we can’t wait to experience how India shows up.”

“For years, we’ve felt the need to bridge India’s sound with the global stage, and this is that moment,” said Zomato CEO Rahul Ganjoo. “It’s bigger than music, it’s a loud, undeniable signal that Indian hip-hop is here, it’s global, and it’s got something to say. We’re proud to bring this home.”

More details are expected soon, so stay tuned for the latest updates on this exciting festival debut.
