After a break of 4 years, that truthful and mature ‘Cry baby’ is back, spreading rumors about her ‘Death’. Melanie Martinez’s upcoming album is about to release her third studio album’ Portals’ on 31st March 2023. Her last studio album ‘K-12’ came out in 2019, and her fans were looking forward to his incredibly profound artist offering more of her eccentricity. And the wait came to an end with the audio release of ‘Death’ on the 17th of March 2023. This was the first single from her upcoming number. And on the 25th of March, she dropped the unique video of this track.

The entire was thrilled after listening to the uniquely written and widely reflective track, but the gloomy video unveiled more about her upcoming release. While her entire YouTube facade screamed “R.I.P. Cry Baby” as they changed every thumbnail of her existing videos. But it seems that our crybaby has formed a pair of wings along with another extra pair of eyes as well. The video opens from inside a grave and Bunny-masked people were looking down with sad and grim faces and placing flowers. And the moving camera shows a huge mushroom with “R I P Cry Baby” carved in it.

This is when Melanie Martinez starts to sing with her heart out “They’re carving my name in the grave again/ The flowers are fresh and their faces wet/ My body has died, but I’m still alive/ Look over your shoulder,” she is back from dead. And her winged self emerged from her corpse yet still attached by a half-nerve and half-root-like substance. This is a song that shares the colors of embracing your eccentric self. The repetitive line “I’m back from the dead” possibly is mentioning the four years of her career break but this track along with this exceptionally well-crafted video has compensated for this long wait.

In 2019 Atlantic Records chairman Julie Greenwald told, “She created every storyline, worked with the set director, the art director, the stylist,” adding more, “She built an entire community on YouTube with these videos.”  And with this video, she showed how great she is with her charmingly musical self. Her out-of-box thinking was always enticing and this video is a great inclusion to her discography.
