Coachella Music Festival is something everyone looks forward to and this year is going to be a most interesting one as there will be the first-ever K-pop headliner, the first-ever Latin pop artist in the headliner, and an epic comeback by none other than Frank Ocean. What is even more interesting is that none of the headliners this year is a white artist.

On Tuesday, this well-celebrated music festival declared its lineup for 2023. There will be BLACKPINK, Band Bunny, Frank Ocean, and many other artists featured as headliners absolutely 100% non-white which is bizarre considering the previous years.

Embracing the diversity in the music industry, The 2020 festival almost made history with Travis Scott, Rage Against the Machine, and many others who performed as headliners. It would have been a great festival but due to the disastrous effects of the global pandemic, the fest was canceled.

Looking back to 2018’s iteration, Beyoncé was the first ever Black woman to be featured on the headliners. The festival was quite dynamic as well where the other two headliners were The Weeknd and Eminem.

This year’s list of performers also consists of a huge amount of diversity in every genre. Starting from Latin pop star Becky G to Haitian DJ Kaytranada, Afrobeats star Burna Boy to rapper Metro Boomin; there will be high-octane energy on Friday’s second line. Day two will be featuring a performance from Euphoria‘s Labrinth. Day three, on the other hand, will offer Colombian star Kali Uchis, Indian-British electronic artist Jai Paul, New York rapper A Boogie, and many others.

The 2023 lineup will also be featuring many other South-Asian music artists such as Joy Crooks, Ali Sethi, Diljit Dosanjh, and Jai Wolf. Some of the other notable artists from the lineup are Idris Elba, ¿Téo?, Doechii, 070 Shake, GloRilla, Eladio Carrión, Flo Milli, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Willow, Rae Sremmurd, Noname and Latto.

The festival tweeted, “Ugh was stuck in drafts 🫠
