AR Rahman Gifts A Brand New Music Platform For Music Artists On His Birthday

It was the 56th birthday of Oscar-winning music director, singer, and songwriter persona AR Rahman on January 6. On this birthday, while he is supposed to get the gifts; the artist surprises everyone with the announcement of his upcoming music streaming platform. On Friday, he took Twitter by storm by declaring the launch of the digital music platform named ‘Katraar’.

This ace musician is opening up a launch pad and a new avenue for emerging music artists to gain more traction from the relevant audience base. The music artists are able to directly upload their musical creations and earn a royalty for them based on the stream.

Not only other artists but Rahman himself will be dropping some exclusive projects on the platform ‘Katraar’. Recently, he shared a video writing, “I’m excited to announce today-KATRAAR, the #metaverse platform currently in development is one step closer to launching. And I look forward to sharing this journey with you all.”

Born on January 6, 1967; Rahman has been reigning in the music industry for quite a long and still releasing new projects. It is time when the artist has decided to share the success with the merging artists by offering them a digital music platform where they can garner more attention. The living legend is best known for his exceptional music compositions in an array of films and international collaboration projects as well.

This unwavering musical persona has been noticed by director Mani Ratnam and Rahman started to build a successful musical career from the background score of the Tamil film titled ‘Roja’. Later on, he worked in the movie ‘Bombay’ and the songs became equally hit. This versatile music artist has won a total of two Oscars for the movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ for Best Original Score and Best Original Song. He also won the Broadcast Film Critics Association Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score for his work.

In the latest video shared on Instagram, Rahman added that the new platform will be comprised of new technologies which will help to bring revenue directly to the artists. He further explained that this platform is all about bringing new talents to the music industry by promoting musical innovation and bridging the gaps between the old and new.

Katraar is being developed in partnership with the HBAR foundation and it is looking forward to launching via Hedera Network.
