Sensational playback singer Arijit Singh, who has enriched the modern Bollywood industry with numerous songs, has finally decided to retire from it. The singer posted on social media, “I am calling it off, it was a wonderful journey,” on Tuesday, January 27, and it has created a massive shockwave across the country among the fans.
Although Arijit Singh will be progressing on her musical journey, he has decided not take any more assignments for playback singing for Bollywood. Being one of the most popular and demanding voices in Bollywood movies, Arijit is a part of the soundtrack for most movies. He was already at the peak of his music career, and this sudden decision is putting fans in awe who developed their fandom from his magical voice behind playback singing.

He also added, “God has been really kind to me. I am a fan of good music and in future will be learning more and do more on my own as a small little artist. Thanks again for all your support. I still have to finish some pending commitments, will finish them. So you might get some releases this year. Just to be clear that I won’t stop making music.”

Arijit Singh has not elaborated on any reason behind taking this drastic decision, and the fans are still in disbelief about the news. However, this feels like a decision of a mature and revered music artist, as his career is already saturated with Bollywood music artists. He is making independent music projects with international artists like Ed Sheeran and Martin Garrix, and he is still at the top of his career and creativity, which is not only defined by Bollywood soundtracks. Perhaps it is time for the artist to explore his own journey.
Arijit Singh started his career as a contestant on a music reality show called Fame Gurukul, which took place in 2005. His debut for Bollywood playback singing was for ‘Phir Mohabbat’ from the movie ‘Murder 2’. Since then, he has been on a never-ending musical journey that is constantly flourishing, and now, he is taking a new turn.
