Hyderabadi rapper Ruhaan Arshad took the internet by storm with his announcement on YouTube to quit music forever. He, in that video published on November 11, shared with his fans that according to his religion, Islam, “rapping is haram”, (a sin). So he does not want to go against the ethical belief of his religion.

He also mentioned that it was his sole decision, although he did not disclose the reason behind it. He said that he would reveal this in the next video.  He said, “I am very happy about my decision. I am not regretting. I will myself take a permanent exit from music……….those who had been inspired by my music, I will request to them to quit it also.”

He further adds, “I have full faith in Allah, and I believe he will do enough for me.” He urges his fans to be with him and keep praying for him as they had been doing when he was into rapping.

After the announcement his viewers started reacting on his YouTube channel. On one hand, some fans appreciated him for his decision; on the other hand, some showed their anger on him by showing that he was misleading his viewers by saying some stereotypical stuff.

Ruhaan further said that he would not leave YouTube, as he had worked so hard for it. From now he would upload new contents on his YouTube channel but music. He also asked his audience some suggestions for contents.

He mentioned, “Definitely not going to quit YouTube. A lot of hard work is involved after it. From now onwards I will try to bring different kinds of contents on my YouTube channel. Do suggest me, what kind of videos you want to watch on this channel”

By getting little nervous at the end of his video he said, “I am getting nervous now. I have never been before so long in front of camera. I will take your leave now. But from now onwards whatever I will do, do for “halal” not for “haram”.
