Pakistani FM Radio Stations Banned Bollywood Music

Bollywood songs have a great influence in countries like Pakistan. Over the past years, it has been seen that people from Pakistan find Indian Bollywood songs more entertaining. However, the recent dynamic has changed a lot due to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. Due to this terror attack, a total of 26 people have died. And that has created a huge tension between the countries, Pakistan and India.

The equation between these countries has never been quite pleasing. However, there was a little bit of time when such terror attacks didn’t take place. As now this has started once again, both countries are taking new measures. It is coming to know that Pakistani FM radio stations have stopped airing Bollywood music. The PBA also known as the Pakistan Broadcasters Association announced this order and said would be immediately effected.

Atta Tarar, Pakistan’s Information Minister showed his appreciation for this movement and said ‘The patriotic gesture of the PBA is highly appreciated and reflects the collective sentiment of the entire nation’. He also added ‘We all stand united in promoting national unity and supporting core values during such testing times’.

They took such action right after the Indian government banned some of the major media outlets like ARY News, Samaa TV, Geo News, and Dawn News. The Government of India stated ‘On the recommendations of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Government of India has banned the 16 Pakistani YouTube channels, including Dawn News, Samaa TV, ARY News, and Geo News, for disseminating provocative and communally sensitive content, false and misleading narratives, and misinformation against India, its Army, and security agencies in the backdrop of the tragic Pahalgam terror incident’.

Along with Pakistani YouTube Channels and media outlets, it is also coming to see that renowned Pakistani celebrities like Mahira Khan, HaniaAamir, and Ali Zafar’s Instagram profiles are not even available for Indian users. From this, it can be understood that both the countries are now banning the sources of entertainment of the other country.

As of now, there aren’t any updates on how long this is going to continue. Both the countries haven’t disclosed their next movement either. The situation seems to be stricter this time. As the entertainment channels are banned, users of both countries are quite displeased.
