On Sunday morning, the family confirmed her passing. The moment carries an emotional weight, as she leaves at the same age as her sister Lata Mangeshkar, marking a quiet and symbolic end to a remarkable era in Indian music. Arrangements have been made for fans and well-wishers to pay their last respects. Her mortal remains will be kept at her residence, Casa Grande, in Lower Parel, from 11 am on Monday. The last rites are scheduled for 4 pm the following evening.

Indian lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar, in an interview with PTI, said, “The new singers who used to come at that time, they all tried to copy Lata (Mangeshkar) ji. But her own younger sister found her own way and style. Today, Asha Bhosle is recognised by her own style.”
