Folks who love Ed Sheeran would already know that he is working on a new album, and the singer has just announced the release date through his memorable song, ‘Old Phone.’

The making of the music project has already been confirmed earlier in March by Sheeran when he appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. He shared the title for the project that night and weeks after, her came up with new materials to tease this upcoming project.
His series of albums for ‘Mathematics’ are finally to an end which were highly inspired by the mathematical symbols. The titles of the albums are ‘Plus’, ‘Divide’, ‘Subtract’, ‘Multiply’, and ‘Equals’ which created a new era of pop music.
The idea for the upcoming chapter of his musical journey appeared in his mind when he was only 18 years old. Ed Sheeran decided to create a musical chapter that will follow the series ‘Play’, ‘Pause’, ‘Fast Forward’, ‘Rewind’ and ‘Stop’. ‘Play’ is going to be the first album from the series which is scheduled to arrive on September 12.
Currently, Ed Sheeran is gaining a lot of attention with his emotionally enriched single ‘Old Phone’ which embraces a hefty dose of nostalgia. This track is inspired by an old phone that has been unused since 2015 and now, the artist is recalling his decade-old memories. Previously, he has shared about recovering the messages sent by his late friend Jamal Edwards.
Talking about the upcoming album ‘Play’, Sheeran said, “‘Play’ was an album that was made as a direct response to the darkest period of my life. Coming out of all of that I just wanted to create joy and technicolour, and explore cultures in the countries I was touring,” he also shared, “I made this record all over the world, finished it in Goa, India, and had some of the most fun, explorative creative days of my life.”

The ‘Bad Habits’ singer further added, “It’s a real rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish, it encapsulates everything that I love about music, and the fun in it, but also where I am in life as a human, a partner, a father. Going into this album campaign I said to myself ‘I just want everything I do to be fun and playful’ – so that’s why we are building pubs for folk jams, doing gigs on open top busses and singing in pink cowboy hats on bars.”
Sharing his vision for his further musical journey, Ed Sheeran said, “The older I get the more I just want to enjoy things, and savour the moments that are mad and chaotic.”
