Get ready for a new Blondie box set, titled ‘Against the Odds: 1974 – 1982’. This upcoming box set comprises several of their remastered and alternative numbers along with some demos and of course some surprises. Since 1976 they have been releasing one after another album with the most exquisite numbers in it. They started their path with the eponymous album and then Plastic Letters, Parallel Lines, Eat to the Beat, Autoamerican, and The Hunter came along. And in this new box set, you will offer numbers from the first 6 albums they have released.

Apart from these foil-wrapped numbers, you will have over four dozen of their demos. And in the demos, you will also find Blondie’s first-ever recording sessions and some liner notes from Erin Osmon. With that, some track-by-track commentary will also be there, in the compilation. Some essays by their producers including Mike Chapman, Richard Gottehrer, and Ken Shipley are a part of this album. You can also see some of their unseen along with some widely famous photographs. The album is released via Ume and The Numero Group on August 26th, 2022.

“It really is a treat to see how far we have come when I listen to these early attempts to capture our ideas on relatively primitive equipment. Fortunately, the essence of being in a band in the early ’70s held some of the anti-social, counter-culture energies of the groups that were the influencers of the ’60s. I am excited about this special collection. When I listen to these old tracks, it puts me there like I am a time traveler. As bad as it was sometimes, it was also equally as good. No regrets. More music”, Debbie Harry said in one of her statements.

In 2017 they released their last album ‘Pollinator’. But 2022 is going to be a big year for Blondie, just after releasing their album, maintaining their earlier rules they will be touring to promote their album through their Against the Odds Tour. Their previous tour started in 2017 and continued to 2019. They have been performing for over 50 years and still deliver the zest through their music.
