Phoebe Bridgers announced the release of her upcoming album, ‘Lost Weekend’. On 6th August, the artist made the announcement and said that she will premiere the album with a planetarium experience for all her fans. As of now, it is known that a global series of listening sessions along with visual content will be shown over five days. With this upcoming release, Phoebe is generating more anticipation, which is making all her fans even more excited.

There will be two completely different presentations for the album. In the planetarium, audiences will get to attain unique experience. At first, a laser show has been designed by Laser Fantasy or a custom show done by night-sky photographer BabakTafreshi. As of now, it is known that the show will take place in 25 North American cities and nine overseas locations.

Phoebe has planned something beyond everyone’s imagination for this album release. Spotify is also producing the show in partnership with the artist’s label, Dead Oceans. No one has debuted their album on such a scale before. And that is why this album release is generating more anticipation among all. However, during the premiere in the planetarium, Phoebe is taking some extra precautions. All the phones and smartwatches of the audience will be locked in Yondr pouches, so it doesn’t get leaked to everyone.

For all the fans who cannot attend the premiere in the planetarium, the artist is arranging for midnight listening parties in more than 300 cities. It will take place on 13th August. It is the night when ‘Lost Weekend’ will be officially released for global audiences. In the announcement regarding the planetarium shows, the artist has said ‘both presentations offer their own atmospheric perspective that turns the album’s first listen into a shared sonic and visual experience’.

On the other hand, BabakTafreshi’s experience of ‘Lost Weekend’ was described as ‘a breathtaking audiovisual journey that travels from the star-filled skies of Madagascar and the shimmering Northern Lights above Iceland’s glaciers to the powerful storms across Texas. Filmed in nearly 20 countries, with no computer-generated imagery, this show brings audiences closer to the natural world through stunning nightscapes that blend music, science, art, and a sense of discovery’.
