The rapid surge of the Omicron Covid-19 variant led to the cancelation of the Final Jingle Ball in Miami

The New Covid-19 variant Omicron is fast spreading in the US and all over the world. Just as Covid-19, it is also becoming the reason behind music festival and show cancellations. After Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, and Jonas Brothers pulled out of the iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball tour as the members of their team contract Covid-19, the entire show has been canceled as Covid-19 cases surge.

iHeartRadio’s annual Jingle Ball tour’s last stop was supposed to be held on Sunday night at FLA Live Arena in Miami. But it was canceled last minute due to the rapid surge of Omicron variant spread.

In a statement from Y100 Miami, it was said that they wish to minimize the potential risk of transmission as the new Covid-19 variant is spreading rapidly. They are canceling the show as a precautionary measure and to keep their staff, artists, and visitors safe. They further thanked everyone for understanding the dire situation.

Artists who were supposed to perform in the tour were Black Eyed Peas, Doja Cat, Anitta, Monsta X, AJR, Megan Thee Stallion, Saweetie, Dixie D’Amelio, and many more.

However, both Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat dropped out of the show because some of their team members and Doja Cat herself tested positive. The Jonas Brothers also dropped out of the show due to the same issue.

Coldplay and Lil Nas X both withdrew from Capital FM’s Jingle Bell Ball as some of their crew members tested positive for Covid-19. The 22-year-old ‘Montero’ artist later said that he had also contracted Covid-19 and he announced it with some jokes on Twitter.

Brett Eldredge has also postponed this weekend’s Chicago tour on his Glow Live tour as he tested positive for Covid-19.

Saturday Night Live was telecasted with a scaled-back episode where People’s Sexiest Man Alive, Paul Rudd hosted the show for the fifth time. He was also officially introduced to the Five-Timers Club on the show. There was no live audience and a limited number of crew members. Musical guest Charli XCX’s appearance was cut out from the episode.
