Paloma Mami Dolled Up for Her Bold Sophomore Album Project

Chilean American singer Paloma Mami created a huge buzz in the music industry with her debut album project “Sueños de Dalí,” which was released in 2021. And now, she is prepared to launch her sophomore project, and the artist is making a bold comeback.

After gaining much attention from the Latin urban scene, the artist has successfully established her razor-sharp vocal skills that meander through all kinds of soundscapes while embracing her original Latin roots. She is the first ever Chilean descent in the industry who signed a deal with Sony Music Latin, and her platinum singles helped to secure a Latin Grammy nomination as the Best New Artist.

However, Paloma is not in a rush, and she is showcasing a more mature side of a music artist, where she claimed that she is taking a “natural” approach to her upcoming project and is not guilty of dropping it after four years of her debut release. She says, “what I want to have people hear from me,” instead of posing self-expectations.

Mami is currently 25 years old, and she said, “Every artist learns from creative processes and work experiences what not to do and what to do better next time.” She further talked about her upcoming album project and explained, “With this album, I realized I was going to be a lot more free just to play around.”

The artist has dolled up for “Códigos de Muñeka”, which can be considered a bold project that depicts different personalities that keep shifting, and each of them is compared with ‘dolls’. She said, “During one day, I have a bunch of different personalities. I just change thoughts and like an hour later, I’m a whole other person.” The singer-songwriter further added, “I was very heavy on the thought of not overthinking the lyrics and not putting so much ‘Oh, I have to represent for this type of people.’ I was more just on what I feel and how I would want to hear something.” It seems like the album is going to be quite intriguing for the listeners.

Paloma also believes that she is greatly inspired by Drake, as she said, “I always loved the way he writes and his musical production in all his albums.” Talking about her favorite album by Drake, Mami said, “My favorite album of his is ‘Views,’ and I feel like when I was younger, that album definitely inspired me a lot to want to make music.”
