With March 20 inching closer, BTS has finally lifted the curtain on the 14-track lineup for their long-awaited comeback album, Arirang, and it already feels like a full circle moment for the group and their fans. The announcement arrived on Tuesday, confirming that ‘Swim’ will lead the project as the title track, while the soaring and anthemic ‘Into the Sun’ will bring the album to a close. The production credits read like a global hitmaker roll call. Heavyweights such as Mike WiLL Made-It, Flume, Diplo, El Guincho, JPEGMAFIA, and Ryan Tedder are among the collaborators shaping the sound of the record, signaling a dynamic blend of styles.

Arirang also captures the growth of V, Suga, Jin, Jungkook, RM, Jimin, and J-Hope after a 13-year journey that included individual ventures and creative risks. Marking their first group album since 2020, the members took a deeply hands-on approach. RM contributed to every track except the interlude, anchoring the project creatively. SUGA and J-Hope hold multiple writing credits, including on ‘Body to Body’, ‘Merry Go Round’, and ‘Normal’. Jimin worked on ‘they don’t know ’bout us’ and ‘Into the Sun’, V contributed to ‘2.0’ and ‘Into the Sun’, and Jung Kook helped shape four tracks, including ‘Hooligan’.

The album takes its name from the traditional Korean folk song ‘Arirang’, a choice the group felt mirrored their present chapter and shared history. Rooted in heritage yet forward-looking, the title carries emotional weight. As BTS shared in a previous statement, “The new release explores universal emotions of longing and love and will resonate with the worldwide audience as a timeless legacy across generations and cultures.” The lead single is ‘SWIN’ with RM at the helm of the lyrics. The song dives straight into resilience. It captures “one’s resolve to keep moving forward despite the turbulent waves of life. Rather than resisting the current, the song frames the choice to move ahead at one’s own pace as an expression of love for life itself.” The record is reflective yet powerful, built on the idea of surrendering to motion instead of fighting it.  Longtime fans, known as ARMY, will recognize the water imagery. It echoes “Sea (바다),” a hidden track from Love Yourself: Her, where the ocean symbolized their fame, shifting between calm waters and unpredictable tides.

Last year, the group set up camp in Los Angeles to shape the album, locking in studio time with some of the most sought-after names in music. Collaborators included Mike WiLL Made-It, Flume, El Guincho, JPEGMAFIA, Diplo, and Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic.

Diplo later teased his involvement with ARIRANG at the 2026 Fanatics Super Bowl Party, calling it the “Craziest album ever,” a bold claim that quickly caught fans’ attention. Tedder echoed that excitement during OneRepublic’s concert in Seoul, telling the crowd, “Most recently, I did a lot of work on the upcoming BTS album. ”It absolutely blew me away how talented they were, and I think it’s honestly one of the craziest things I’ve worked on in my whole career. I know you’re going to love it.”

After three years, BTS is returning in full force. Arirang drops on March 20, followed by BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE ARIRANG at Gwanghwamun Square on March 21, streaming live on Netflix. The BTS WORLD TOUR ARIRANG kicks off April 9 in Goyang, spanning 34 cities and 82 shows. Select Goyang and Tokyo dates will hit cinemas. The album lands worldwide at 2 pm KST on March 20.
