Lisa from BLACKPINK builds anticipation before the release of ‘Always Lalisa’ by releasing the trailer for the project. The trailer offers a perfect preview of the documentary, which is based on the solo music journey that she embarked on during the one-year break from the girl group.
In the trailer, Lisa is seen saying, “I’ve been with BLACKPINK for 10 years. Jennie, Jisoo and Rosé, they’re my soulmates. We promised that we’d take a one-year break.” She further added, “One year, it’s really short. What should I do first?” and expressed with confidence, “I just want to see what else I’m capable of.”
The trailer for ‘Always Lalisa’ sheds more light on the 1-year-long musical journey by Lisa when she started working alone rather than with the group. It explores her individuality while showcasing her importance to the group. The solo career for Lisa allows her to embark on a new musical chapter in her life. She remarked, “I’m finding myself as well, a new me.”

The trailer has been released with a video description on YouTube, and it says that ‘Always Lalisa’ will showcase Lisa “during a transformative year away from BLACKPINK, the K-pop phenomenon that made her one of the world’s most recognizable performers. As the group pauses activities, Lisa embarks on the first true chapter of her solo career, confronting the question of who she is beyond BLACKPINK.”

Highlighting Lisa’s solo career is not just based on music, as she is a significant part of the entertainment industry as well. Starting from her first solo project ‘Alter Ego’, her magnificent presence in the popular series of ‘The White Lotus’ to her debut solo appearance at Coachella 2025, the documentary will highlight all the special moments in the year.
The description further said, “But forging her own path, particularly in the Western music market, brings new pressures, relentless scrutiny, and the challenge of redefining herself on her own terms,” and the documentary also shares details of Lisa’s growth from a Thai kid to a global popstar.
‘Always Lalisa’ has already made its world premiere on September 11 as part of the Gala Presentations program, which took place at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival.
