Indian metal heads are getting prepared for the biggest metal music gig in the country, which is coming back to Bengaluru. An immersive metal experience for the Indians is about to take place at Bangalore Open Air. Dedicated to the fans, the concert will be offering mosh pits and safe head-banging grounds for the hardcore fans.

The founder of the festival, Salman Syed, said, “It’s India’s only dedicated heavy metal open-air music festival, and it’s going to be eight hours of non-stop heavy metal music.” The metal festival is going to take place on October 10 at BITS Club Grounds, Hennur. Fans are eagerly waiting for the upcoming 14th edition of the concert.

The lineup for the metal festival will include a total of seven bands that will be offering high-octane performances across diverse metal sub-genres. These international acts are creating a massive buzz among the metal communities, and they are ready to roar loud on the festival grounds.

Salman further added, “It’s the first time ever that we’ve stacked a really big lineup of global bands. Metal has many sub-genres, so we’ve also tried catering to everyone’s tastes – from the youth who listen to more modern metalcore and deathcore music to fans who listen to old-school heavy metal from the ’80s. ”

The founder has also emphasized the highlighted metal acts, saying, “The headliner is Dismember, a band from Sweden which pioneered death metal. Paradise Lost is a legendary doom metal band from the UK, who’ve been around since the ’90s; Thy Art Is Murder from Australia has been doing main stages at festivals across Europe, and we also have Nervosa from Brazil, which is an all-female thrash metal band.” The diversified metal roster also includes Kerala-origin band The Down Troddence, rogue metal band The Ocean, Midhaven from Mumbai, and Norwegian metal band 1349.

This year’s metal fest will also provide a unique feature of double performance as it comes with two side-by-side stages. This will create a seamless flow of continuous performances, as Syed said, “One band performs, and the other is setting up, so they start as soon as the first band finishes.”

This music festival is also an important community space that allows all the metal fans to join the celebration together, as there are not many music festivals dedicated to metal, and this space offers the room for that.

Syed also added, “Hard rock and heavy metal music are genres which are all about brotherhood and community. It’s one big family and that’s what makes it different. It’s one day of the year where you can be yourself. Nobody cares what you wear, what language you speak or where you’re from; it’s all about our shared passion.”
