Like every other season, American Idol is back with its latest season 21 for 2023. This singing competition premiered on February 19 this year, marking its sixth season under the label of ABC television network after its revival. The auditions for American Idol 2023 started back on August 3, 2022, and lasted till September 14, 2022, along with several open-call auditions and producers who selected the contestants. The opportunity of ‘platinum ticket’ has returned from the last seasons and viewers are quite happy about it.
The Beginning of American Idol
This globally renowned American singing competition started back on June 11, 2002, was created by Simon Fuller, and is under the production of 19 Entertainment and Fremantle North America. From 2002 to 2016, the show continued with 15 seasons that captivated music lovers around the world while offering a platform for rising musical talents to get more of the limelight. But then it went on hiatus for two years and was finally revived in 2018 under the guidance of ABC network. American idol winners are not just chosen based on only the marks given to judges but also depend on the number of public votes acquired.

When it comes to American idol judges, the faces of Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan flash almost instantly. Starting from Season 16 of the show, these three judges have been consistent in their responsibilities. Audience Voting Pole
As mentioned before, the Audience Voting Pole plays a vital role in every idol’s chance of winning. Starting from the semi-finals of the show, public votes can decide the fate of the contestants. An American idol vote can be given via call or text to the toll-free telephone number particularly assigned to the candidate. Online voting systems were introduced in the 10th season. Based on the number of votes earned, semi-finalists become finalists and then finally the winner gets the title of an American Idol.
Rewards
American Idol is highly rewarding for the participants as the winners get a record deal with a major label for up to six studio albums. Other than that, there are many lucrative contracts that can help emerging artists earn a handsome amount every year. The winners of the earlier seasons agreed to earn over a million dollars on their winning years. Even the runner-ups get to sign a deal with a record label but only one deal will be signed in this case. Other than ample opportunities to create their own musical albums, all of the 10 finalists earn the privilege to earn over a six-figure sum along with a chance to go on international tours. How to take part in Audition?
This season is already premiering its Hollywood Week and those who are willing to take part in the next season of the show would have to apply for the audition which will be starting this year only.

- After enrolling, the applicant needs to upload the audition video on the website
- Applicants can find a list of guidelines that every participant needs to follow
- Every candidate must belong to the age group of 15 -29 years old, which is considered suitable for the program
- It goes without saying that all the candidates on American Idol should be legal residents of the United States along with legal authorization to work in this country
- An applicant can apply in different seasons if not selected but every candidate will be auditioned for only once in every season
- No participants will be allowed who sing in harmony with other artists. Even the band members are required to audition independently rather than in band performances.

American Idol is one the biggest and most popular television shows that has a growing viewer base of 15%.
