Oscar-winning music maestro AR Rahman had a proud moment as his daughter won everyone’s heart with her performance at the Dubai Expo. Khatija Rahman performed the track ‘Farishton’ on stage and delighted the audience with a soulful musical experience. This is the debut song by Khatija which is composed by her father and the song is already making a storm over the internet after her performance. AT Dubai Expo, the 24-year-old singer performed along with ‘Firdaus Orchestra’ on the happy occasion of World’s Children’s Day on 20th November. She wrote on her YouTube channel, “For those of you who missed watching the performance of Farishton by Khatija Rahman and the Firdaus Orchestra, celebrating World Children’s Day, here it is for you. A big thank you to the whole team of Firdaus Orchestra and Expo 2020 Dubai for putting up such a phenomenal show!”

The track ‘Farishton’ has been released with an official music video as well which put the audience in awe with her ‘Angelic’ voice and a beautiful animation video with a greater message. The netizens showered blessings and love through the comments section. Another proud moment for Rahman as `Farishton’ got an ‘honorable mention’ in the Los Angles Film Awards 2021. Khatija Rahman started singing as a prolific singer at the age of 14 only. Her music debut started with Tamil blockbuster Enthiran in 2010. Belonging to a multicultural family with prolific music artists, Khatija has always found her in the exciting possibilities of music. Soon, the big start of her musical career progressed to some mention-worthy collaborators like Grammy-winner Ricky Kej. The latest track ‘Farishton’ has also taken a nod in the International Sound Future Awards and won the award for the Best Animation Music Video.

However, this is not the first award for ‘Farishton’ as the track has also garnered attention from other platforms. It won an Award of Merit at Global Shorts.net, one of the biggest international short film competitions. The music video is pouring down a lot of influences as this track is a kick-start to her musical journey as an independent music artist. While describing her track, Khatia said “I’ve always been fascinated with the wonders of life. As Mawlana Rumi says – ‘There are a thousand ways to kneel and kiss the ground; there are a thousand ways to go home again’.
