For the last two years, Katy Perry has been on and off in the musical scenario, with her last album release being ‘Witness’, which wasn’t appreciated by all. However, the tracks ‘Never Really Over’, ‘small talk’, and ‘Harleys in Hawaii’ did earn the desired recognition and fame. Well, making her comeback into the arena, the renowned star released her latest track ‘Never Worn White’. Through this track, she has portrayed her married life and the happiness she has found in it. This latest ballad, which is led by a mellow piano tone, is all about her fears of getting married.
Singing on the chorus, ‘But I’m scared ’cause I’ve never worn white, but I wanna get it right’, Katy conveys romanticism and love through the spoken verses. Appearing in a mesmerizing white dress, which is garnished with flowers, she speaks out ‘Yeah I really wanna try with you/No, I’ve never worn white/But I’m standing here tonight, ’cause I really want to say, ‘I do.’ Embracing her baby bump, the three-minute and fifty seconds long track come to an end. Production-wise the entire presentation, be it the sonic or the visual, the project is perfectly executed, the credit of which goes to Johan Carlsson.
The entire package is pretty refreshing in terms of presentation with Katy Perry looking stunning in the white dress. However, the track is still way below par with most of her famous releases. It might not be the best track for those who are going through a bad relationship patch but, certainly a pleasant one for those who are happily married. ‘Never Worn White’ is still a chartbuster, completely due to its engaging presentation and the presence of the soothing vocals of the artist.
