Revered Metal Band, Friday Dies Returns with a Brand New Single ‘Hammer Down’

Offering listeners the authentic flavors of metal music, Friday Dies is making a comeback in the music industry with a powerful new single, titled ‘Hammer Down’. The song is also teasing their upcoming musical album ‘The Sky is The Ocean’ which is scheduled to be released soon. This latest track can be considered as a voice of protest that wants to bring down corrupted leadership while hailing unity among all. We thank this revered metal band for sharing their views.

Friday Dies

DMR: Congratulations on the release of ‘Hammer Down’! Tell us more about the subject matter.

Friday Dies: the lyrics are about loosing your leadership and sticking together instead of falling apart, a team is a team even after loosing its leadership.

DMR: Since it is also appearing on ‘The Sky is The Ocean’, will be the album based on a similar concept? Please shed more light on the upcoming album.

Friday Dies: The lyrics will have many deep meanings and what you might call cryptic messages, definataly far more poetic than past albums, For those that like to analize words and phrases this should be a bounty of discussion and for those that like heavy riffs and melodic melodies are in for a treat, if you both , you get the whole cake and you can eat it.

DMR: You guys are returning after the 1995 music project. What initiated this epic comeback?

Friday Dies: I just really miss the process of writing, recording, and playing live.

DMR: How are you feeling right now? Has the music industry become competitive?

Friday Dies: I feel pretty good most of the time, the music industry has always been a competitive place. Competition is a good thing as long as it remains positive, work on making yourself better and do not worrie about dragging others down.

DMR: As the members of Friday Dies have been apart before, tell us how you kept things together through all these years.

Friday Dies: They become part of the family, its like loosing a cousin, you don’t see them for 5 years than one day there they are at a christmas gathering.

DMR: Tell us about the story of the ‘box of old CDs’ found by Mark Friday’s son.

Friday Dies: I had quit playing for some time ,he was maybe 15 and was digging through boxes of junk in a closet when he ran across them. He just started listening to heavier music from the 70’s and 80’s, which I always thought was strange that an entire generation of kids went back and listened to old music like that. When I asked them why they said there music sucked. anyway he finds these things and listens to one, apparently he liked it and kept them hidden from his mom who would surely throw them out. Funny thing is he starts to research heavy underground bands and finds Friday Dieas in the archives, I don’t know if that was cool or embarassing, either way its funny you search for cool shit and find your dad.

DMR: What listeners can expect from Friday Dies in the coming days of this year? Are you guys willing to perform live? Is there any event coming soon?

Friday Dies: We are definately releasing this album, and playing live is really the end goal, it is why we do this in the first place, I don;t think we would bother if we coul’nt hit a stage. So fa we are in the planning stages of playing live because we are focused on getting this album fifnished.

DMR: Usually, there is a strong protest in your tracks which offers a rebellious aura. Do you think metal music can bring a change to society?

Friday Dies: I don;t know about changing society, that would be a long discusion, but I hope my music inspires those that think they are alone, helpless , or just feeling like they can do nothing, that they can. There voices are kept drowned because they are strong , and there not alone, only isolated. There are winners and losers but it is only the quitter that fails.

DMR: What tips would you like to give to the rising metal bands in the industry?

Friday Dies: Enjoy the journey, stay honest with yourself  and trust your feelings. If it does’nt feel right thats because its not, there can be a lot of phsychic energy poured into a song ,let it flow , don’t let outside influences ruin that , don’t worry so much about what others might think , you really have know idea. Do what feels right for you and the musicians you work with.

DMR: Do you guys ever want to collaborate with other artists or genres?

Friday Dies: I personally would collaborate with most anybody, music is a language and I have no problem speaking it with anyone who would enjoy my conversation.

DMR: Is there anything that you want to share with your fans?

Friday Dies: this will be the longest time in between releases. I will personally make sure more music gets out there, I feel guilty about waiting so long, its not like I didn’t have a thousand ideas that will never be heard.
