If someone tries to describe Miley Cyrus to someone who does not know her, a few attributes like artist, vocalist, songwriter, actress, fun-loving, animal lover, multimillionaire, etc. can be used. However, it is highly doubtful that anyone in this world is still yet to know the popstar diva who is otherwise known as her famous Disney character Hannah Montana. Even though it has been more than a decade that she has been in the public eye, there are still some facts that people do not know. Who is Destiny Hope?
The singer-songwriter and actress that you know as Miley Cyrus today was not born with that name but she adapted when she got older. The pop star was given the name Destiny Hope Cyrus after birth on November 23, 1992. In her childhood, Miley was always seen smiling the brightest, with her heart out. So the family gave her the nickname ‘Smiley’ as an ode to the always happy vibe that she carried around. Her stage name Miley is a shortened form of her childhood nickname ‘Smiley’. In 2008, the singer decided to legally change her name.
Pansexuality and her understanding mother
Miley Cyrus is pansexual and she is proud of it! The artist has always been a vocal ally of the LGBTQ+ community and is an active member of it. In an old interview with Paper Magazine back in 2015 the singer shared a memory of her coming out to her mother as a Pansexual. She said in that interview that she came out to her mother at the age of 14 and Tish Cyrus, her mother accepted her sexuality. “I remember telling [my mom] I admire women in a different way. And she asked me what that meant. And I said I love them. I love them like I love boys,” Miley said.
The singer continued, “And it was so hard for her to understand. She didn’t want me to be judged and she didn’t want me to go to hell. But she believes in me more than she believes in any god. I just asked her to accept me. And she has.”

The world fell in absolute and incandescently in love with Elvis Presley and Miley Cyrus is no stranger to this. Throughout her career, in multiple interviews, Cyrus has described how the King of Rock and Roll has inspired her style, music, and outlook on life in general. In an episode of “Zach Sang Show” in 2021, the ‘Malibu’ singer explained, “My biggest inspiration is Elvis Presley, the King. And fashion icon.” In 2015 in a =Tumblr “Answer Time” interview, the singer was asked, “If you could choose one person to host VMAs with you, who would you choose and why,” by a user. Miley replied to this question by stating “Elvis” and added the fact that at one point she wanted to marry him.
Previously the singer also stated that Elvis is both a sex symbol and a symbol of freedom and this inspired her in the showbiz and industry. She said, “The only thing I’m an example of is freedom, especially in this time where the energy of the world is shifting from male energy to female energy,” in an interview in 2014. According to Billboard, Miley’s 2020 album ‘Plastic Hearts’ was also inspired by Elvis.
An MCU cameo?
Think of one of the most talented artists of this generation, Miley Cyrus playing a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Well, this is not just a thought but a reality that many people do not know. In 2017, she briefly joined the MCU when she appeared in one of the end-credit scenes of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”. In one of the end-credit scenes, audiences were introduced to a character named ‘Mainframe, ‘ who was voiced by Miley Cyrus.
The director of the movie James Gunn said in an interview, “I was watching ‘The Voice’ and I [thought] she’s so likable and her voice is awesome, she’s got the best voice.” “And then I asked Kevin [Feige], what do you think about casting Miley Cyrus as the voice of Mainframe? He was like well if you think we can get her … and I got her to do it,” he told reporter Sarah Ruhlman of Sarah Scoop. According to various verified sources, there is a high chance of her getting a credited role in MCU in the future.
‘We Can’t Stop’ for Rihanna?
2013 was a year when the world saw a different, wilder side of Miley Cyrus, and her fourth studio album ‘Bangerz’ is something that solidified that persona of the artist. Now the ‘Bangerz’ era cannot be imagined without the viral hit ‘We Can’t Stop’ which was questionable, but infectious. However, it might come to you as a surprise that the song was originally not written for Miley Cyrus, but for Rihanna.
While talking to MTV News, American record producer Mike WiLL Made-It said “When I originally worked on ‘We Can’t Stop,’ we had did it for Rihanna.” “The idea was more towards Rihanna.” The producer also added that when Rihanna heard the “Unapologetic” track “Pour It Up,” she went on to work on that right away without even listening to ‘We Can’t Stop’. Then eventually the producer shifted his focus on working with Cyrus which led to her getting this infamous track.
Iconic tongue pose is a part of her rebellion?
The world got to know the real rebel Miley during her ‘Bangerz’ era and it was also the time when her iconic tongue pose in pictures got famous on social media platforms. In an interview in 2017 with Billboard, she explained how this pose was not intentional yet became a part of her rebellion. She said, “I was so embarrassed to be on the red carpet and so many of those fucking disgusting photographers would tell me to blow a kiss, and that’s not me! I don’t want to blow you a kiss.” “I didn’t know what to do with my face, so I stuck my tongue out, and it became a rebellious, punk-rock thing,” Cyrus added.
Hillary Clinton campaign
Hillary Clinton was a candidate running for President in 2016 and during her presidential campaign, Cyrus wrote a song for her. The song is titled ‘Inspired’ and on a 2017 episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” the singer got a chance to thank Hillary in person. She said, “Thank you, Hillary, for being a constant beacon of strength, hope, and determination for me and millions of other young women.”
Who is ‘Wonder Woman’ about?
Miley has released her eight studio album ‘Endless Summer Vacation’ on 2023 which produced her first ever no. 1 Billboard single ‘Flowers’. The album also had another empowering track called ‘Wonder Woman’ which the writer said to have written and made about her mother Tish Cyrus and her maternal grandma, Mami. On her Spotify Storyline, the artist shared that she wrote this song after losing Mami and this is track is about a strong and resilient woman. With lyrics like “She’s a wonder woman// She knows what she likes// Never know she’s broken// ‘Cause she’s always fine” tehre is simply no better way to pay your tribute!
