Ne-Yo Performs the National Anthem at Game 4 in the 2026 World Series Championship

Game four of the 2026 World Series turned more magical with Grammy Award-winning R&B singer Ne-Yo performing the national anthem. The fourth game took place between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Milwaukee Brewers at the Tropicana Field on October 27, which is situated in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Ne-Yo did not fail to impress the fans with his silky smooth voice and his charismatic personality with the hat aside, which later he took off during singing the anthem. It was a visually compelling performance as well with the national Flag waving behind the artist and him, performing the national anthem.

The ritual of performing the national anthem at the game series is followed from Game 1, and the previous three artists who performed at the games are Mickey Guyton, Kylie Cantrall, and Carly Pearce, respectively, who have been chosen for the year’s Fall Classic.

Prior to the anthem performance, Ne-Yo said in an interview, “You go over the words like a madman,” and further added, “Lord knows that you don’t want to get up there and forget the words. You do a lot of vocal exercises… I try to keep it somewhat traditional.”

This year’s World Series is taking some interesting turns as the Rays could snatch a victory from the Brewers, and then Game 5 will take place at the Trop on October 28. The fans are eagerly waiting for the historic night at Tropicana Field as the Brewers could become the franchise’s first World Series championship.

This year’s game marks the first appearance of the Brew Crew in the Fall Classic since 1982. It was a devastating year as they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in a total of seven games. The franchise was in the American League.

This is not the first time for NE-YO to perform the national anthem at a mega sports event, as the artist previously appeared at many sports celebrations that also include a fair share of music. He appeared at the 2016 NBA All-Star Game, the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament’s final in 2023, Thanksgiving’s Detroit Lions-Chicago Bears game in 2021, and many others. It is safe to say that Ne-Yo is not just a talented music artist but also an ardent fan of sports with constant support.

The appearance at the World Series Championship could be a promotional touch too, as the 47-year-old music artist is returning to the industry with a brand new album project. The R&B music artist is leaning towards a country essence this time, and the upcoming country album is titled ‘Highway 79’.
